Oh this year I'm off to Sunny Spain, y viva España
Yup, all booked and paid for. Woo hooo.
We sail June 5th and return June 22nd. Heading up to Santander to stay with Nacho's family for a day or 2. Then heading over the Pyrenees and meet a pal who lives in Catalan area. We'll get a place to the west of Andorra for a few days, and he'll show us the best roads around there.
Then amble down the east to Cadiz. About 1,500 miles in total
The ferry should have been nearly €700, but with resident's discount, it was €240. That's with private cabin, full flexibility and cancellation insurance. Cool.
4 of us booked so far and 3 still to decide

After Portimao went tits up, I'm getting excited again.
I'm gonna install a USB port as it could be a safety feature. But do they draw much on the battery ? My battery is a bit smaller than previous GSXRs so could be summat to think about. It copes with the alarm on for a few weeks before struggling.
Considering this...

We had a BBQ on Friday and we got out the old fashioned map to pick some good routes. The 5 bikes have very nearly as much power as a Bugatti Veyron
Got 2 new Dunlop Sportsmart TT tyres and have been fettling the bike the last few days
And we've got a multi way intercom so that we can converse when necessary
Also bought these to make it more relaxing...

Just waiting to disembark
But Nacho discovered he's got a frayed clutch cable. So first stop Yamaha Cadiz.

Re: Oh this year I'm off to Sunny Spain, y viva España
After late start, first day was 250 miles of mental roads, stopping at Llerana, near Sevilla.
Only did 45 minute stints as mucho hotness and needed water stops. And visor cleaning.
Beautiful hotel and village.
Was high 30s day and 30 for evening beers.
Mucho cheapo beero. And I discovered a yellow tequila drink.
Poorly head today
Pics to follow.

Today was on quicker bendy bits and about 290 miles.
Between bendy bits cruising was 80 - 110. Bike superb at those speeds. New screen works.
Still high 30s but higher and less humid.
Bike working superb. New tyres track and steer great on the tight bendy bits.
Now at San Lorenzo del Escorial.
Nacho used to live here. He popped off to see his mum earlier.
Lovely town and big beers.

Nacho buggerded off for a bit. He went to see his mum.
He'd steered us here but no reason why.
It turns out that the current king of spain was in nachos class
His dad flew the king's plane for 5years
His mum was ex ski racer and knew them all.
Nacho said " yeah, we know the king"
