I love the fact he had Inconel tubing left over from another job :D He must have some fancy other jobs. Inconel is a strange choice for a frame, mechanically it's not too different to steel but it's massively more expensive! You use it when you want very high temperature performance and stuff like that (exhausts, jet engines, nuclear reactors etc.). Or when you've got some knocking around in your garage I suppose.

That central aluminium frame is pretty spectacular if its done on a manual machine!

Impressive bit of kit though, exactly the sort of thing I'd build if I were making this kind of bike (only with an electric motor of course ;)). Well actually I would get someone else to build it to my design, I can't bash metal for shit. Clearly someone who knows how to make stuff at a fundamental level.

90% of the customs on here are nonsense bikes you could never actually ride...at least this one has been thought out as something that would work. :D

It's even got mudguards.

And yet...

The exhaust hangers are cheaply knocked up sheet ally, and that Rad isn't actually going to get much air....

Lovely work on most of it though.

Yeah the exhausts smack of getting it done quickly for the photographer! Look at the difference in quality of those hangers vs. the frame and suspension.

Side mounted radiators worked for Honda didn't they?

Interesting, I'd love to have a go on a Centre hub steering bike
Bimota nailed the looks with the 3D though I reckon

I was wondering about the bits on the ends of the swingarm that looked like forged dropouts on a pushbike til I realised it was for the stand to slot into.

I like it and it makes most other specials look a bit tame.

It's too busy - like a mecanno set has fallen down the stairs. You're almost blinded by the amount of work that has gone into it.

the alloy work is nice - the welding seems a little iffy. looks like it was done by the guy who welded my 2006 Orange Patriot / Halifax Filing Cabinet.

I had some bits of half inch thick Inconel plate left over from a job for BNFL when I worked in engineering.
Left it somewhere when I moved house and they were pretty small sections but its surprising at the stuff in the scrap bins sometimes.

I saw this a few years ago on an Aprilia forum, it's a very impressive piece of engineering. Aesthetically...

Although he lives fairly close to me I've never seen the bike on the road - I recognise the spot where the pics were taken though.

That'd certainly explain how I got a carbon fibre breaker bar...
