So what have they done?
No indicators, no lights, underseat exhaust, black painted wheels. Is that it?

No. Rather a lot more than that. Link to the build details is in the OP...Cousin Jack wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 7:24 pm So what have they done?

Exactly the sort of thing I'd build if I were in the market to build customs. Looks "factory plus"....like the factory would have built if they'd had unlimited choice.
If you compare it to the photo of the OE bike, the real one looks like a budget knock off of the custom IMO.
Well actually no it isn't, mine would have an electric motor.
But if I had to build one with a petrol engine

Hmm, sounds a bit spendy.Taipan wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 7:33 pmNo. Rather a lot more than that. Link to the build details is in the OP...Cousin Jack wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 7:24 pm So what have they done?

It succeeds in that it looks at first glance to be factory standard, whilst no doubt Ducati enthusiasts will drool over it. Quite like it myself, but no way would I pay the price.

Almost.
I can't imagine the factory using those exhausts... they need to be bigger, with Termignoni stickers on them.

Yeah I do wonder how long that fancy paint will last next to those fancy exhausts.
Plus it's probably fuck off loud.

I'd never get past the swinging arm, so even if it was pocket change to me I'd not buy it. Mind you, if that was pocket change then a new swinging arm would be easily sorted...

And there was me thinking gold was a deeply unfashionable colour but it seems my KX forks are right on the cutting edge right now.
And spokes as well, seems I've caught the zeitgeist by the tail. That makes a change.
I quite like the look, not so blown away by the spoked wheels but at least the bike looks like it runs.
Not sure I'd make as much of a feature out of the clutch but generally it looks well built and shows the no mudguard, no airbox, fat front tyre abortion bin escapees up a bit.

Re: ANALOG CUSTOMIZES THE DUCATI PAUL SMART
Paul Smart was my local (grumpy) dealer when I first got into bikes. He was very patient with a no-nothing 18 year old but less than polite to time-wasters.
I have a feeling he would have absolutely NO patience with that bike - he'd simply have poured petrol on it and set it burning.

TBH - I prefer the factory version - other than the exhaust.
And boy, do they go for silly money...
