Bikes to own before you die.

Post by KungFooBob »

I'm not talking ultra-exotic lotto win, but stuff you could buy if you want, but just not got round too.

1. I've never owned an R1 of any vintage.
2. GSXR1000, probably a K5/6 because I rode one once and it was aces.
3. CB1300, dunno, I just like them.

See, I quite like the ZXR750, the recessed twin headlamp with hoover pipes job, over the ZX7R (which is probably a much better bike).

I should also add some kind of 60/70's British classic.

My old man had an A65 when I was in my teens, I'll probably end up with a C15 at some point.

One of mines listed in Dirtbike Magazine as the "One bike to ride before you die" so I guess I'm already there with that one? Dunno really.

As I get older I want a go on more oddball stuff so its the bikes with the funny front ends that get me interested as opposed to the bigger faster racebike type things.

True, but I'm a tightwad. I didn't look cool when I was young enough for it to be possible.

I'm old and I've had the luxury of either owning or riding almost everything I fancied.

The ZH2 was one box I wanted to tick,it didn't disappoint. I may own one sometime, but I'm currently in deep with my Z.

I'd love to revisit and old Mach 3 or H2,mostly because I love the noise they make,I reckon I'd be glad to give them back though,a run would be enough.

Despite being a diehard ICE fanboi, when they finally get around to making a well sorted, powerful and light leccy bike,I'll take a hurl on that too.

The only bikes that are left for me is the stuff that I dreamed about as a yoof, or buying things I had back then for nostalgia reasons.

A Cagiva Elefant
A Suzuki DR Big
An RC30/45
Etc

At this stage though I'm fairly sure that they should be left as poster bikes or dreams, at the time I would have sold my mum for any of them, but I feel the reality wouldn't live up to the dream.

Wasn't there a line in a Who song about those? Out of my bean on a C15...
