I like that.
Then again there was another dark red bike you put up a week or so ago.
I wonder if it’s just the colour but again it just suits the bike.

The text confirms it!
"the Royal Enfield Continental GT tank, which required a completely new tunnel and frame mounting points to fit the KZ’s backbone. "

Nice job. Love the exhaust too, reminds me of the ubiquitous 1980s Piper 4-1!

They should have turned the lights on before taking the pics.

I did think the tank looked a bit Rocket 3. I'd never noticed the resemblence when mounted on the Conti GT.

I don't like it, no surprises there, but it's well done.
The reason I don't like it is the styling, it's too old fashioned looking for me.

My life would be easier if I'd stayed away from eBay and not bought a Z, on the other hand, the Z has led to me making friends with a great bunch of blokes with similar interest to me, I even achieved my youthful desire to have a motorcycle in a mainstream motorcycle magazine.

Weirdly, yes, I was in Trail Bike Magazine a couple of times in 2002, but that died soon afterwards, a picture of my bike in Practical Sportsbike magazine at Cadwell in 2019 was really good.weeksy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 1:37 pmThat's quite a nice feeling isn't it.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 1:34 pm , I even achieved my youthful desire to have a motorcycle in a mainstream motorcycle magazine.

Ha!
I see the Rocket 3 vibe, but more of a WR650 thrown in there too.
I meant to say,I liked it.

I was thinking BSA tank & side covers. It is rather spiffyKungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 11:07 amI did think the tank looked a bit Rocket 3. I'd never noticed the resemblence when mounted on the Conti GT.

Re: RAPTOR RED ROADSTER: KAWASAKI KZ1000 BY MOTORELIC
The Piper I had on a (imported from US) KZ900 sounded quite tasty. I cut the baffle down to 3inches & shortened the pipe so it ended at the mount welded to it, so basically right by the rear peg. Had to stuff a metal pan scourer down the loud end to get it through an MOT.
