I can't. Wish i could though as they are big and they are clever. The nearest I got was when i had my CCM and I used to pop the front wheel up about a meter high and ride out 2nd gear. Felt great but probably looked shit!

Not really. I have done some in the past with a bit of practice, but in a very very loose sense of the term

It's impossible not to wheelie the GSXR1000 in first or second. I used to wheelie over the Mountain at Cadwell on my LC250 back in the day

Is this a parallel world?
Sure I’ve just seen a thread with the same title elsewhere...

Only time I've ever done it was accidentally, on a tuned aircooled Yam 350 that someone let me have a go on.

I did a wheelie school with a mate last year and at the end of the day I could pop little wheelies off the throttle. Not done one since

Only by accident, the same as stoppies.

Yes, they only take practice tbh. And just to confirm we are talking through the gears wheelies not those mincy power wheelies anyone can do aren't we ? Don't want anyone taking credit when they don't deserve any

Sorry I know times are hard but it's a no for that one too.We gotta be firm and clamp down on this quickly, protecting the 'coolness' of those that can wheelie proper is an essential at the moment

Wasn't there a story about Barry Sheene: first practice session of the year after not riding through the winter, testing a race bike he'd never ridden before.
Front wheel up in first, kept up all through the gears

I can wheelie, but I'm not good at wheelies, got a mate who can wheelie any bike, there was a video of him wheelieing a Husky supermoto with his legs over the handlebars and I've seen him wheelie a VFR800 up through the gears to over 100mph, this was 20 years ago, he's got more titanium and steel in him than Steve Austin and now has mobility issues.

Of course, piece of piss mate.
Can wheelie my ride on mower. (Heel and tow shift)
Done a few short stoppies on my old 990 sd and my motards as well.
I suppose next you'll want video proof?

I did a properly good stoppie on a VFR750...
then I hit the van and fell off

I was great at stoppies as a kid. We lived near a school and the road through it had a tight corner, about 20 mph if you were good. My party trick was to scrape my pegs there, while kids were queueing for the yoof club. Word spread and other folk tried and failed.
I got brave and did the pegs on all their bikes and sort of opened up a challenge. I rode their bikes.
So I had a 50 yard run up, chuck it on its side and get the pegs down, in front of a big crowd. I only failed 2 or 3, so I'd go into the playground and just ride in circles till the pegs touched.
Once I had mastered that bit, I looked to summat else. I was still only 18, but was just a bit daft
Just as the above peg grinding, I could do a stoppies on most bikes, if the brakes were in good nick
The good old days eh ? I have some pics somewere

i´ve always been shit at wheelies.
the first one i did was unintentional on a mates X7, and freaked the hell out of me! i had no understanding of power bands and apart from mopeds had only ridden 4-stroke bikes, so it was somewhat of an experience.
i did manage to do some decent ones on a DT400 i was lent. it was unlike any other stroker i´d ridden and was just so easy to do them on…..but i was still shit at them!
as i´m an average rider on a good day, i tend not to take the piss and take things further than i´m capable of handling. sort of knowing my limitations

i used to grind the right hand peg on my combo with the chair in the air
that was fun to do
edit - that was a car park trick. flick the chair up (lightweight velorex chair) then turn right leaning further….loads of scraping!

Trying to find some of my vids, found this quickie of my way home on my old 09 sd.
Another thing I do that's all over in 10 seconds.
I'll try and dig some more up.
There's music in the background because my helmet cam has terrible air noise.
