I guess this is right on point for discussion, whether it'll be liked or not i have no idea... but it's certainly worth a chat

Does nothing for me.
Typically traditional looking motors look good in traditional style bikes or caff racers. I'm not sure where this is going?

I think as a styling exercise that's lovely- it's got the wrong engine in it though, needs a KTM 890 motor in there, then we'd be talking

Cheesy will be happy, they've put the oil cooler in the correct position.

I'm inclined to agree. I must admit I'm loving the use these days of primer grey glossed over. I think it's a great colour.
The Zard styled exhaust I love too.
The oil cooler I'm meh about, but you'd expect that of me.

You have to wonder what race series he’s doing where he’s ’confident of success’ starting off with an engine that produces 46hp as standard?

I like that apart from the high level exhaust, it's sort of a cross between early 80s AMA superbike and flattracker

Looks like they built a special and then got let down by the engine supplier and stuck that in!
I like modernised older bikes normally, but that is just the wrong styling for that engine, or wrong engine for that styling, whichever way you prefer?!

Dunno, I quite like the look of the engine in that and the other RE special I posted a week or so back.

Sorry can’t get past the oil cooler position!

Re: ROYAL ENFIELD TAPS CRAZY GARAGE FOR A RAPID GT 650 RACER
I enjoyed this RE 'special' (I dunno if it's been on here yet- apols if it has) https://www.rideapart.com/news/425613/r ... ker-build/
I know it has a lot of the pet hatez that come with one-offs - "where's the mudguards" "those tyres are stupid for road use" "what's going on with that wheel" but I still feel it's much more in keeping with the style of motor.

Lucky I didn't mention this one then.
Dreadful but still more in keeping than the OP one.

And there was me thinking RE were all about providing affordable, low-cost transportation for the masses.
Crowbarring a single sided swingarm into a chassis that wasn't designed for one will probably end in tears. And how does moving the fuel tank to the rear of the bike help with weight distribution?
