I have had a maxxis minion on the back of the FlareMax - and have had a fair few punctures - and random episodes of theatre going flat. So usual stuff - lob in more sealant after checking it over for any bore holes, sink holes or rips.
Anyway, out yesterday and it goes flat - no sign of the usual slime fountain. Get my co2 ( and found I have only one, after inflating someone random's tyre the other week ...). It didn't seal at all. Manage to get within 6 kms of home ... and then walk.
Post mortem - the bead has separated from the carcass - so just fibres are showing and gaping through the rubber! - and a bulge in the sidewall when inflated to 50 psi!
Anyone else had a Minion fail ? It has obviously be in the process of doing so for about 3 months - but I have been riding my HT for most of the winter ...

Re: odd tyre failure
Maxxis tyres, whilst they work well I've had an Ardent and a Minion SS fail in odd ways, developing bulges and not sealing.
