BOX FRESH: A ZERO MILE HONDA CB750 CAFE RACER
TOday i've gone away from random browsing and taken Todays choice from Bike Exif. Mostly because, well, it may not be perfect, but unlike some of the recent bikes and specials they've had on there, it's at least worthy of discussion.
Of course we all know your first comments "stupid big hole/space" will be coming, but nothing i can do about that sorry.

Surely though if you filled that gap with a decent panel and using that satin grey, then we'd be talking 'absolutely stunning' ?

No one wanted the CB Seven Fifty back in the 90's when they were new and in the early 00's you couldn't give a 2nd hand one away.

Re: BOX FRESH: A ZERO MILE HONDA CB750 CAFE RACER
You could say that about many bikes, but this isn't a CB750, this is a custom/cafe racer, so what it 'was' has little to do with what it is now ?KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 8:41 am No one wanted the CB Seven Fifty back in the 90's when they were new and in the early 00's you couldn't give a 2nd hand one away.

Re: BOX FRESH: A ZERO MILE HONDA CB750 CAFE RACER
The bike is okay, nice even, but for me if I was going to update one, I'd still want a good nod to the 750Four origin. I much prefer something like this,

I don't think you need a battery if you've no intention of riding it.

Yep, that's what it is, a big Superdream, but I like the looks of Superdreams, shame the 250 is such a slug, it was a big seller though, Honda sold loads more Superdreams than Yamaha sold RDs.

I'm not 100% certain but I think the best selling bike of 1980 was the 250 Superslug

Re: BOX FRESH: A ZERO MILE HONDA CB750 CAFE RACER
It's very well executed and finished, but why do all these cafe racer clones have such a ridiculouly long wheelbase? It's obvious that they're not really made to be ridden, as the damn thing would handle like a supertanker. You could take 3 or 4 inches out of the wheelbase on that easy, and improve the steering no end.
But yeah, it's pretty tidy.

Re: BOX FRESH: A ZERO MILE HONDA CB750 CAFE RACER
That looks to be the same wheelbase as the standard bike, just look longer because there's not as much bodywork.
Looks like the stock forks and swingarm.

Re: BOX FRESH: A ZERO MILE HONDA CB750 CAFE RACER
Well at least its got somewhere to put a lock and mebbe my baitbox with some sarnies in.
Somewhere in Caferacerville there must be a fucking massive pile of airboxes and sidepanels.
I bet its worth a fortune.
Don't get me wrong, I quite like a lot of these bikes but just wish they'd kept some more of the bits I figure are worth keeping.
I've not seen airboxes knackered too often when someone cacks off so I reckon they've launched em on purpose.
Streetfighters were often bloody awful but at least the parts they replaced on em were crash damaged items like fairing lowers, headlights and front ends.
Oh and as someone said on here that neatly took the piss with "The stand looks nice"
