Photo hosting sites?
Ever since the great Photobucket thing a while back I've not really bothered posting photos up.
I have a fair backlog of photos (mostly shed and building stuff but theres all sorts in amongst it) and some of them might be useful when describing err... stuff.
Anyway I need a photo hosting site, ideally one that doesn't pester the life out of me with adverts and isn't too picky about me giving them as little personal information as possible.
I've spotted that Weeksy (Hi, thanks for the new home BTW) is using Flikr, wassat like to use?
Any others?

Re: Photo hosting sites?
FLickr is OK..... But when you want to do it from a mobile device VERY few forums accept it.
There used to be an app called FlickrBBcode which gave you a forum friendly link, but that is no longer installable on my phone, but is on my android tablet.
Flickr from desktop is great...
Storage wise i think i pay £5 a month for gazillions. Less than 1000 images is free.

Hmm, I almost always browse via a mobile phone but as I'm naturally an awkward git I do it in Desktop mode. Nothing short of nuclear apocalypse would get me to use any version of Tapatalk.
Does Flikr allow links to be transferred from the desktop versions of a mobile device?
If it allows that I reckon its a goer.

Just used this one for the social distancing image above and I don't see what they get out of the deal?
I just put the image into their server, never even had to sign up to them, login or anything.
Not complainin like, just wondering what the catch is?

No idea Demo, but I've used it for years and haven't found it trying to load any malware.demographic wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2020 5:27 pm

Re: Photo hosting sites?
I still use Flickr - but then I also use it for backup of 'nice' photos because they keep the original images (a lot of these sites reduce the images to a size that is appropriate for web use and discard the original).

Thanks for that, I missed it.
Seems a fair trade for the workmate observing social distancing picture, possibly less so on others I have which may even make me £0.02 per year if I play my cards right.
I'll bear it it in mind

I'm still using flickr, I'll come a decision when I've got 1,000 photos on there.
