Just replaced the bearing in the Cotic FlareMax

Post by Mr Moofo »

After buying the bearing press from amazon suggested on here, I have just replaced the bearings on the FlareMax.

Took most of the stuff off the bike, waggled the swing arm around and thought " nah, that's fine". With a bit of reflection after talking to myself, i tried moving it again and it was notchy as f***.
It will just be a five minute job .... it wasn't. But now I have done it once, I am guessing I can do the next set with 90 mins.

However, for 3 years hard use - and 3000 kms, the two sets of main bearings were okay ( until i drove them out!). The seat stay ones were awful. So note to self - change these once year.
I bought a bearing kit off eBay - the quality is rubbish. It will do for this change - but a quality set of Enduro / SKF bearings now ordered.
