I'm guessing it's not great if it's £750 considering the prices on Ebay are £2500-£7000 ?

It's a little cosmetically challenged, but it's mechanically sound, it's done 63,000 miles, has a Micron exhaust, YSS rear shock, and very importantly had new Yamaha inlet rubbers a couple of years ago, it runs perfectly, but the right hand fork seal is leaking a little. It's a late one with 17" front wheel and 4 pot calipers (the same as an FZR600). The MOT has just run out, with a fork seal it would pass.

For another £700 you can have a 911 big bore engine that's done a few laps of the TT course at race speed.

I'm just being realistic about what it's worth, it's high mileage and looks tatty, to look nice it would need the frame painting and the bodywork would also need painting, I'll sling in a (very thin) race fairing and any other spares I have.

I'm not interested in making money out of motorcycles, I'd rather sell it for a little more than I paid for it than have someone come round expecting a mint bike.

It sounds like a good potential project for someone at that money for sure.

It is, it's mechanically sound, I was never that bothered about how it looked, I bought it to ride, but I've got a bit bored with it.
Weirdly, I care about the shape of a bike, but I'm not bothered about how shiny the paint is.

Whack it up on PBForum- there's a few with the love for old FZs/FZRs and projects in general on there and a chance someon there will want it, or know someone who does.

My bike is booked in with the dealers on the 23rd March and I hope to take the Trident out for a coffee. I will be sure to share my thoughts and a few pictures

Cheers, I need to have a better look at the Triumph, which probably means waiting for the end of lockdown.
TBH the money isn't an issue, but I don't want an FZ stuck in the garden slowly rotting away.

I'd rather sell everything I bought for a little bit more than I paid, but invariably I sell it for a bit less because I can't be arsed haggling.

If I take into account what I've spent on it, £750 is about half what I've spent on it, but that's the cost of running an old bike.

I usually lost 2 grand on all my Suzukis over 2 years. Not a lot to get a brand new bike with warranty to thrash it on track for 2 years

I gave it's looks a good slating on that thread, the pictures didn't do it justice, it looks a lot better in real life.
