DUTCH'S HOXTON 2.0 BY DUTCH VAN SOMEREN
https://bikeshedmoto.com/blogs/features ... hoxton-2-0
Some of you may remember Dutch from the old VD days, he was a regular poster on there and also the KTM/Ducati forums. Me and him had lots of chats about Sport Classics as he got one around the same time as me, however he jumped fully into the scene and now owns The Bike Shed in London.

I used to chat to Dutch a lot on the VD SM forum, he got his 625 SMC after asking me about mine as an upgrade to his LC4. We used to meet at the Ace a lot too back in the olden days. He's something of a Cleb now in the biking world.
Not keen on them balloon tyres he likes on his bikes. Other than that I like it.

Having seen a few standard Thruxton's I bet this looks way better IRL than it does in the photos

I like it. One thing to say about the tyres, is they make a lot of sense of London's pot holed roads! Cant justify the yellow headlight though...

I like the stubby, purposeful looks of the bike in the first/last pic,the other not so much.

Is this pics of 3 different bikes now, or is there some WIP going on?

I think the bottom/last pic was how it came, reading the article he felt the clipons were too low and made it into a bike with bars instead ?

If this is how it ended up then yeah I quite like it as a hipster-mobile. The others are neither one thing nor the other.

"Yeah, I love that bike. I'll buy it if you put a brown seat on it"

Based upon places like The Bike Shed and Bike Exif, plus Triumph selling many many bikes of thiers, Yamaha selling the XSR900/700 by the shit load and thousands upon thousands of R9T's being sold, i'd say, load of people do.
I'd bet £20 to any charity you like, Triumph sold more of their Bonnevilles than Suzuki sold GSXR1000s last year in the UK
GSXR1000 - 2020 sales 212
Triumph Bonneville - 2020 2200.
Triumph scrambler - 2020 1300
XSR900 - 2020 1300
XSR700 - 2020 1300

Loads and loads and loads of people.
Build what sells! And what sells ain't sportsbikes these days. At least not in the UK anyway.

I wouldn't want to be crammed in a room with the ginger gits who buy bikes with brown leather seatsMr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 1:01 pmLoads and loads and loads of people.
