You could put a viking helmet and Brian Blessed's beard on that and it would still look like it's on it's way to a nail bar ;)

It's unlikely I'll part with my money, and I've not really got room for another bike, I also think my 38 year old RD350 does a very similar job and will be prettier when it's finished

Gratuitous power valve picture just because they're very pretty

I avoid red on cars like the plaque because of the discolouration but it looks smart on bikes.

I’d go for the red despite blue being my favourite colour along with black.

Considering I own a bike with an Orange frame I generally don't like coloured frames/forks. Plain black for me if poss. I've had the SV650X over the normal one I think.

Out of the two options above the red frame looks the best with the colour of the body work, but you wont buy one ;)

This is the equivalent of 4x SV650's... for half the price of one.

To you maybe, but that's the worst of all worlds to me. Ugly, unreliable, lots of old crappy fixes on most, carbs, lack of technology. Can't think of many bikes I'd rather own less than that.

I think for us these are what motorcycles should be, cables and linkages that actually physically connect you to what's happening, uncluttered with electronics that think for you, a throttle that you need skill to manage, etc.

Most modern bikes are fairly bland IMHO.

I get that, but throw me a 350 Ducati/MV in that case. The Yamaha above I just don't get in any way shape or form. It's not even like I'm being picky, I simply cannot thing of a single part of it I even remotely like.

Fair enough, I'm the same with most 60's and 70's bikes, that flat bench look doesn't do anything for me.

Different people like different things, I fully admit my liking Power Valves is a nostalgia thing, standard LCs are actually reliable, there's nothing to go wrong, like any bike keep them serviced and use good oil and they'll last. I appreciate my one is now a 38 year old former race bike, but it 's been sat in a garage for at least 20 of those 38 years, runs fine and will have new electrics throughout when I put it on the road.

Someone killed a perfectly good RGV250 to build that, I'd much rather the RGV.

It will also handle shit, LCs don't handle well with longer swingarms
