I get the impression to an extent you get what you pay for. Mine was about £50, 2 feet type, stability isn't wonderful, but it's ok for most things, I get around most jobs on it. I wouldn't recommend it though, but have no idea what make it I'd anyway as it's about 10 years old.

Not much positive to add, I've a Bonty stand (which they don't make any more), it wasn't cheap. You have to be careful with the tripod positioning as otherwise it gets tippy, the tripod takes up a big area so its either outside or in the conservatory. Also the leg support struts ability to trap fingers make a 70's baby buggy look safe. I use it but only for big jobs or full strip downs.

I have a Park stand - it wasn’t cheap and it isn’t perfect. The clamp can freeze and need to be hit with a mallet. It’s. A two legged affair - and with a bike on it , it is stable.

Lidl / Aldi do them every now and again , and decathlon is normally a good shout

I've got two stands, an older version of the Decathlon stand that Lostboy posted (mine has four legs instead of three) and a recently purchased Lifeline Pro Fork Mount.

https://www.wiggle.co.uk/lifeline-pro-f ... sJEALw_wcB

The Decathlon one was fine for road bikes but never really held mountain bikes at decent angle - the front wheel always dropped so the bike was in stoppie position. It did allow you to work on gears and helped with cleaning but was always spinning you needed the slightest bit of force on anything (bottom brackets for instance) so I'd end up loosening stuff with the bike on the floor and then lifting on to the stand. Became more of a PITA to use, hence the new purchase.

I chose the Lifeline stand because I've got an e-mtb and didn't fancy dangling it by the dropper post. Haven't tested in anger yet but it feels and looks more appropriate for my needs.

I would have thought an ABBA stand would work best on an e-bike :D

I tried a cheap stand that looked just like the Park Tools one, it was rubbish and I took it back. I replaced it with Park Tools and the difference was huge.
I'm not one to splash out on branded stuff but this was worth it.

If you're minded, and can find the right base, this build-your-own looks like a decent option:

Or follow Blake's from GMBN set-up:

Don't get the Halfords one.

I bought one, it was crap and got crapper as bits wore or fell off and eventually the clamp snapped dropping my bike on the floor. :(

I've got an abba stand for my eMTB, it works a treat for doing things where you just need the bike held upright and the rear wheel an inch of the floor. I use it for day to day storage of the bike.

I don't think they make them any more, which is a shame

I've got one lurking in the garage and if it was less of a PITA to use I'd have given it a shot. 😂

I thought Moofo was having a laugh about using an ABBA stand!
