New bike

Right so back in June/July I ordered a Whyte T140s via my works cycle to work scheme, yesterday was the day it finally arrived at the shop and was built up and ready to be collected. When I got there they were a few small marks on the handle bars (quite disappointed that they had been missed) but spoke to the guy and they fitted an unmarked new pair. so all now good.

I got them to put DMV v12 peddles on it (still can't get over bikes don't come with decent ones). Front and rear suspension has been set to my weight (is it worth getting my own shock pump)

First impression's are, It look's great, the tyres are massive, there huge 27.5 inch wheels and the tyres are 2.6inch (there massive) I need to check they fit in my Thule bike carrier. its been set up tubeless, so apparently I can run lower pressures, they swapped the tyres about a bit and I got a 3rd one for the rear as it should be better in winter than what was on there. (cost me nothing as I had £270 store credit as the price of the bike went up and I had to pay the extra cash, got the peddles like this as well)


Not sure when its first outing will be but I am quite excited, might be Epping forest, i've ridden a 2019 T130 and it was great,

Plus the best part is that it has a DROPPER POST

2. Yes to shock pump
3. It'll sort of fit on a Thule but depends on model as to how well the 2.6s will fit in the plastic slots. Mine are not the best but just about fit.

Of course you need a shock pump. You will find yourself fiddling at some stage. And the shock and forks will loose pressure over time.
Buy a decent digital pressure gauge for shock, forks and tyres - it makes a difference.

Actually, you probably don’t need one - I was just seeing if you were paying attention.
Slack head angles are very en vogue in the MTB world - helps stability on decent.
You can buy a head set that slackens the angle by 1 or 2 degrees ....

I only said it because I fitted one yesterday
I might even try riding the bike today...

As it is shitty conditions it is worth getting some mud guards - not the old fashion type - but things a like the RRP

I like mine dry-ish ( and the shock not covered in shit!)
