Mods from front to back, ish

Brake rotor, brake rotor mount, caliper, caliper mount, brake hose, forks and yokes, internal spacers in forks, steering stem adaptor, headlight, handlebars, switchgear, instruments, sidestand, left hand rocker cover, exhaust downpipes, fuel tank, seat, subframe, exhaust end can, end can mount, rear light unit, shock absorber, footpegs, delugged frame and sundry custom made fasteners.

And after all that it still looked and ran like a bag o' shite. :banana-wrench:

1. Why is the caliper bracket the wrong colour?
2. Get swingarm coated
3. Is that 3 different exhausts ?
4. Did you make subframe and sidestand?

There's more, but it's tea time.

It does make you appreciate how much work has gone into some of the others we've seen.

Do you still have it?

1/ It was cheap on Ebay and I didn't get round to replacing it or stripping the anodising.
2/ The swinging arm is coated, it's called patina. AKA aluminium oxide :mrgreen:
3/ Downpipes, collector box or Y piece, and an end can. Downpipes were original, Y piece for a BMW airhead but not this model, end can from a Triumph TT600. It needed an adaptor, I made the trial one out of oak.
4/ The subframe was adapted, mounting brackets moved and added and the rear tube was cut and bent to suit the seat. The sidestand was part home made and part modified. I started with another Triumph part IIRC. The sidestand bracket, spring, pivot etc, would be tedious to design and make.

Sorry, was distracted by the cat needing something, I still haven't worked out what.

I no longer have it, the bike that is, the cat is still here. Once I'd got it to the state above the next step would be to spend a lot of time and money making it tidy. Because of the non standard exhaust it would be a real struggle getting it to run properly, Bing carbs are like that. Non standard carbs can be fitted but pod filters are anathema to me and they'd be the only option. Time I've plenty of, but the money? I could easily have spent £5K+ to end up with a £3K bike, and I'm cheap.

The fun for me is getting a ratty looking unreliable MOT failure to pass an MOT test.

The GS750 is nice, a set of air correctors (about £30) will sort the running on pods out, Grumpy 1260 stocks them, and if you phone Chris he'll probably recommend some jetting.

I bought this very bike off Mad Ax, who bought it off Druid AFAIK....dunno if there was anyone in between.

That exhaust was hanging off an interior door striker plate which rusted through and gave out while I was riding to work one day. Both Druid and Mad Ax deny fitting it like that, but clearly someone did :D

This was a rebuild, but ended up somewhat 'custom' simply because genuine original parts were unobtanium.

After the initial rebuild from crashed state (I do have photos of the wreckage somewhere).

From memory:
Guzzi V50 headlight shell, lens was a Cibie Z-beam off a Daf55 (yes really),
custom side panels, (ally, made by my dad)
gloss black paint job,
Cagiva Alazurra GT rear wheel,
Conti 2-1 race system,
rejetted, and (iirc) pod filters hidden under the tank,
cheap bar-end mirror (I think bikes with 2 bar-end mirrors look odd, but just one seems fine to me)
Hagon shocks,
custom rearsets
Jota handlebars (the adjustable ones)
IIRC the throttle/switchgear unit was also Guzzi (but functionally identical)
I also made up the instrument panel in ally for the fairy lights. (no photos, thankfully)
