Bumping this - any way there can be
"new posts" - ok we have this
"all posts in the last day"
"all posts n the last 2 days"
for example?
"unread posts" doesn't work in the way these would.

I'll have a look and see what can or can't be done/found.PitaNaanRoti wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2020 9:39 am Bumping this - any way there can be

To help you / anyone can use the search function on here https://www.phpbb.com/customise/
Which you can find mods/extensions/updates/features for whatever it is you need... Ping the URL up and i'll see and potentially install whatever it is you want.
Currently deploying Firmware updates to 150 VM Hosts throughout the world, so won't likely get time to be doing too much searching for the next few hours

Many phpBB forums have links for new, unread, your posts etc in the top right corner of the homepage. On this one it's in quick links. Is there any reason? I'm not sure if it's a skin thing.
Yes, the extra click fatigues me

Any in particular ? link me up and i'll see.
In honesty, i know only a fraction more than the next man and it's only in the last 6 months of course, so the answer is 'maybe' but i can look into it.
So there's this...
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... _topics_2/
But that's not much different to what we have in the Quick Links already.
edit:
Here's a similar discussion

Re: Is it possible to have a view recent posts button?
Thanks for the PM and 'hmmm interesting'
Unless anyone was looking specifically 3 mins ago, no-one will have noticed we had a new 'skin/style'
I downloaded the same one as the other forum. It doesn't give me them options, although i must admit it's a lovely skin. However, we have to be 'unique' so i'm not using it
I'll certainly look into the options there though and see if i can make nicer bits here..
It's one of them problems you never thought you had, but now i've seen it, i can kinda see the appeal.

Am I missing something? If you go to Quick Links, there is a New Post 'button'? Isn't that the same?
Or is it one click too many??

It's the same yes... he wants it on the top bar just by the search button. I'm always happy to try stuff as it's a bit of a learning thing at times too.

Well i'm afraid the answer is no.weeksy wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 8:04 am https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtop ... #p15594096

As you can see in the thread this involves back end modifications and i'm staying well away from them. Not because i cannot do them, but because it potentially brings further complications down the line when upgrading etc, it's changing the base OS files.
If this was something causing all of us an issue, i'd be more inclined, but as it's just 1 persons whim, i'm going to say no.

As a product guy @weeksy I'm well used to vetoing requests made by just one customer.
But sometimes when it's such an important customer you just have to do it
I'll live, I've already figured out my workaround - bookmark the direct URL: search.php?search_id=unreadposts

I must admit, it took me a a while to adjust away from "my forum" in the the old place but now I don't even notice the extra click. Going direct to new posts on entry is deffo the way though, @chutzpah Thanks
