Modified Bikes you like or dislike

A thread for bikes which you either like or dislike and for other people to disagree or agree with your taste, I'll start the ball rolling

I like most of this, but I don't like the swingarm, specifically the big bit of bracing between the actual arm and the underbrace, and I don't like the oil cooler hoses running round the side of the engine, on my one I've run the oil cooler hoses over the top of the engine.

I like that. On a practical note,if that old Zed's frame hasn't been stiffened like the swinger, then it'll look better than it rides.

Back in the day I stuck a box section swingarm on my old Z1 and it handled even worse than with the spindly stocker!

On J frames the swingarm is generally reckoned to be the bit that flexs, I've never ridden a stock one so I can't say if this is true (though my mate has just built a stock one from parts, so I suspect I'll be riding one soon)
Mine didn't feel like it flexed before I had the frame braced, (Z1000J frame, 750 Zephyr swingarm) but it did handle a bit like a shopping trolley thanks to the weird geometry caused by the long swingarm and short forks, having the frame braced hasn't changed this, but it looks good.

I've got some longer forks to fit when I get time to strip them and rebuild them, but my YPVS is of more interest at the moment.
That one looks like it might have standard J forks, which work well with damping emulators, but are difficult to find for sensible money.

Pipes?

Those are not pipes, those are large formations of welds flying in close formation.

I guess you are paying extra for the dents in the exhaust.

The Divvy seems to follow the same path as many such "customs". Buy a shitty bike, unbolt a few bits, and slap on a cheap speedo, cafe racer seat, rear plate holder and plastic indicators, then attempt to flog it for an over the top bike that has been made shittier.

And what is the near side pillion footpeg all about?

I suppose I like Norton and BSA framed specials, although most examples are seriously flawed.

I think it's the bump stop for the main stand... it would have rested on a rubber bung on the nearside exhaust can.

I had one for a while. Bar a small flyscreen, a nice standard one. Utterly forgettable motorcycle. I keep forgetting I owned one. :D
