Feeling quite satisfied with myself currently... Didn't do much, but it's pleasing when it all comes together...

Was out walking the dog earlier, saw a little black 125cc Yamaha being ridden towards me with a Mountain Bike strapped to the back of it, by a lad who was wearing a hoody and a face scarf but no helmet... Stood out like a sore thumb, and then as he went past, there was no numberplate on it... I reacted quickly, took a couple of pics of it, phoned the police... As I was describing the incident, the location etc. and then added that I had photos and a proper description, the police handler immediately said she'd upgrade it from cat 2 to cat 1 incident and get an officer on the case immediately...

45 mins later I'm getting a phone call from the officer, he's recovered both the motorbike and the mountain bike, and is now looking to reunite them with their owners!

Then 10mins later, I spot a "stolen" notice on a local facebook group for the motorbike, message the lad whose bike it was, tell him I've just sent his details to the police... 5mins later I get a "thanks, the police have just been in touch and it is my bike" from him...

Fingers crossed they can find the owner of the mountain bike too!

Glad to have had my wits about me and acted quickly!

Should have whipped out your Glock and doubled tapped him in the back of the helmet.
