I'm not dyslexic but I can sometimes translate/decode what you post here.

I'm a bit dyslexic, I found out when I learned to touch type - used the correct finger but the wrong hand and Then realised I had issues with b & d and p & q - numbers are different , they quite often get blocked before I even write them, they just don't come out of my brain and I have to think about it too long!!

But the main thing is how I read - I struggle to read every word in a paragraph/book, I read by the shape of the paragraph and sort of the words.

So what CS wrote makes easy reading to me. What ..... writes is a smidge more difficult !!

Weirdly, reading is one of my main relaxing things (easiest is a book but the paperwhite Kindle is good too - screen in general I struggle with documents and have to print them), I am very aware I don't "see" every word My SDad used to be amazed that I'd reread books over and over, but for me I could always pick up something new!!

Downside was that sometimes I'd miss an important word in the scan and then have to go back a page to work out why I'd lost the thread


It does make learning to read in French a real bastard cos I don't know the shapes of the words (50+ years of practice in English!!!) - I don't have another 50 years to learn the french forms

I shall quote this in my defence. I read voraciously, and have zero problems with that, but my spelling (as some of you may have noticed) is crap. However I do get the first and last letters correct, and most of the ones in between are there, not necessarily in the right order.

Who gives a fcuk? Standardised spelling is a very recent invention.
