I'm not a fan of plugging in chemicals but I am so fed up of being feasted on :(

I've seen this advertised and wonder if it or something like it would be ok? Would it piss off wildlife/birds/cats etc as well??

I've got two Raid Max plugs in and going now, need to get some refils but apparently they last ten days ??

Any other advice? Anything less Chemical? Did I read here that eating Marmite helps repel them? I have Marmite, so can go back to Marmite on toast in the morning :( :(

Now off to find the anti mozzie cold cream to try and reduce the reaction :( :(

You have to rub the Marmite on your skin for it to be effective. Mossies can smell the CO2 in your breath so rub it all over your face to mask your exhaled breath.

The Marmite thing is Vitamin B. It has B1,2,3 and 12 Chemist recommended I take it to help deter the little blood-stealing :angry-cussingblack:

Vit B supplements contain less salt than Marmite. :D

Can't confirm it works though.

Can't see that ultrasonic thing working either though.

Edit: the Vit B thing hasn't survived testing but, as ever, you don't know who paid for/did the testing. Probably DEET sellers.

Avon, Skin So Soft. Apparently it keeps them away better than proper repellents.

   I know I'm daft, but even I didn't think I should actually spread the marmite on my face!!

I am planning to take it as a hot drink cos I don't really eat a lot of bread :( :( :(

I couldn't see how the electronic thing would work. Whats really annoying is I like having the windows open, but that then diffuses the RAID plug effectiveness :( But it did help :(

Will get back on the Vit B supplements (not a bad thing for me even if there is no mozzie benefit!)

Is that still true? I thought it was an old formula that they have now changed? If it does still work I'm off to find some (get someone to post me some!!)

The Raid Max plugs did seem to help. Downside is I need to close the windows and doors :(

Also need to buy some of those magnetic anti mozzie window and door thingies :( :( FFS

I do love living down here, just hadn't expected to be a walking (hobbling) buffet this early in the year :( :(
