Finished work yesterday, Start new job on Monday. Got a bath panel to fit. Need to get a haircut. Might go shopping for some new work trousers.

If the wife goes the wild life park with her mother I might even go out on a momobike.

Mine started yesterday with a bank holiday, although it's. "work" day today!

Yesterday - loads of chat, car here, loads of cross stitch, swapped info with a fellow crafter

Today - pool therapy cancelled again apparently - bloody hope the pool is open again next week. So only spazzy sports this morning and probably just a half hour session this afternoon :( Will have to do more walking to practice (and hope my arm doesn't give out!

Sat and Sunday - same shit different weekend - cross stitch, practice walking on crutches, try not to be bored! Will probably start taking stuff to the car each time I go walking as (like normal!) I have far too much stuff here and since I plan to go home for next Saturday night, I can take a load of stuff home and get some friends to put it into the apartment for me!

WFH today. Nice easy day of converting some B&W negative slides and then having an online farewell meeting with my line manager. Gutted she's going to say the least, but I have next week off to console myself! Sadly the weater look shite so probably won't bother going away in the camper as originally planned.

Over the weekend we're not going anywhere ,or doing anything, as stuck at home dog-sitting our mates dog as she's off to centre parcs. I've still got some pimping bit to go on my milk float if i can be bothered and I hope to fit the new exhaust to the NCX. S'about it!

Half day today, so meeting for lunch with some mates, which was supposed to be a bite to eat then day drinking but plans have changed… so I’ll be heading home afterwards to go for a run and then cutting the lawns (assuming the rain holds off).

Weekend is more stuff around the house, interspersed with cheering my daughter on in the Sunderland 10k run on Sunday. She’s hoping for her first sub 60 mins. I was supposed to be running the half marathon on Sunday but my training was interrupted by injury, so I’ll have to make do cheering people on and continue my training towards next year’s run.

If today is anything to go by I won't be doing anything I have planned. :(

(Spent the afternoon up a ladder removing guttering and resecuring roof window panels on a conservatory* after wife says 'Oh, there appears to be a little water on the conservatory floor'. Mind you, we did have 10 mins of slate grey sky followed by a short, but apocalyptic storm yesterday).

* which must be one of the most shonky construction methods ever. Plastic plates with self tappers through holding the trim that secures the panels. Metal washers added under the screw heads covering the enlarged 'oles in the plastic plates.

Eldster couple had a "senior" moment and wandered across the road into our hedge. only doing about 35ish - the airbags didn't even fire.

Could have been a LOT worse - apparantly someone coming the other way damn near hit them head on but was able to swerve around the wrong side of them.

Cue an entire morning chatting to cops and watching the effects of a closed country road.

Must be the day for it, lunch went to plan but git a "Dad!" text message from daughter. She couldn't get the fuel filler flap open on her A class.

After spending an hour trying to find the reported emergency release control by touch in the rear wing, only accessible via a small access hole behind the boot liner I gave up.

Spoke with local independent merc specialist I use, who said it is a common fault due to water ingress into the actuator motor, not all models have an emergency release and it is often necessary to cut / break the inner flap off and replace it. It is booked in with them at 9am tomorrow.

I suspect the bank of dad might have to be deployed :wtf:

I'm spending an hour with the doggo before heading out for a run. The lawns can wait!

Just home from the delights of a day with a stone specialist. Now have an empty left kidney (10mm stone removed) and several others taken out after sitting idly in my bladder, giving me much gip for months. Head's slowly clearing and I'm now ravenous.

Today:
WFH interspersed with Speed Awareness Course

Started Couch to 5K with my neighbour (I did it six years ago, but after I finished it I got bored/didn't like running in the summer heat).

Tomorrow: haircut, mow lawns, see if the R6 still turns over, mates round for dinner.

Sunday: (outdoor) swimming - third time this year, DIY stuff, and finish off with Top Gun at the cinema 😎(it's been re-released for its 40th anniversary).

I'm now back home, mowing the grass seems to be the most pressing option, van unloading can wait. One doesn't use noisy power tools on a Sunday over here, very civilised.
