Had a steady run up to Liverpool for ferry and meet up with fellow mini bikers in lovely sunshine. In Douglas for 2 ish.
6pm was the grandstand meet and word was 59 bikes. Not many stock tbh but on our insane run down to the southern 100 coarse my monkey showed 70 for the first time. Slip streaming loonersy fantastic fun.
We did 2 laps and the noise from all the dodgy cans was like a mgp race start, sort of, even taking off from the grandstand the noise was earth rumbling.
Some folk have spent thousands to get that little edge. Some very smart looking groms probably had the edge plenty of monkeys, a few Benelli tnt 125 and honda CTs, imports I think.
I did learn that all bikes on the iom whatever size are Β£28 a year to tax and no vehicle mots. Sunday and Monday are grandstand at 10am, my bnb is 2 mins away. Finger's crossed on weather, we had rain last night .
Few pics..

When I was over there last week I met lots of Monkey bike riders,in two seperate groups on seperate days. One rider told me that last year they had 80,it sounds fun but he said it was chaos when they stopped for anything I think there was only one standard bike in either of the groups that I met.One thing that was immediately apparent was the fun factor, they were all enjoying them. One bloke said to me that it's just like being back in your teens, hooning around on mopeds with your mates.
I'll be buying a Monkey bike next month.

Probably one of the best bike days I've had, bar none.
Met at the grandstand at 10 am and off south to st Michael Isle just off Castletown, very picturesque, no rain all day. We've got a couple of local guides who know where they're going, Jason is the manager of a honda dealer over here, on a grom.
Over to the Sounds cafe at cregneash overlooking the calf, pretty short stops just time for a stretch and a natter. I never been on some of these little track roads but they're great fun.
Dinner at Jurby, near the museum, very nice.
Up the top after to the point of ayre, nice lighthouse.
Through Andrea's and Ramsay, Laxey, through fords and sheep roads. Everyone ringing the necks out of the bikes, it's pretty much racing on the better roads.
Stop a creg for toilets, and more looney racing, proper, proper fun. Saw 75 on the clock today coming down from the creg with a bit of slip streaming.
More fun n games tomorrow.
