Missing Project Binky?
How about Bad Obsession Motorsport's Building an £850 hatchback into a competitive race car.
The global pandemic scuppered our carefully laid plans for the spring and summer of 2020 so we needed something else to pass the time and to look forward to. Enter the City Car Cup...
Launched in June 2020, the new series from the BRSCC is open to the Citroen C1, Toyota Aygo and Peugeot 107 and captured our imagination instantly so we leapt upon the chance to whip out the grinder and set about finding a car to cut up.
This new series will detail the build, preparation, testing, racing and development of the car. In a frankly unbelievable twist, the car is already finished and has been raced, so we're back on the other projects while this series airs.
Parts 1, 2 and 3 on the tube of you -

Blundering about trying not to make too much of a hash of things.

Yep, enjoying it and never ever thought I'd hear them utter the phrase "and next week"
I also check out Retropower who have also recently started doing an "uncut" update each week of progress on their various projects.
Gordon Murray asked these guys to build him a Mk1 Escort restomod daily driver so you they know their shit.

Harry's Garage is still my favourite though..

This week is the first time I've seen them make a car that works!!!!
Very different to episode 1 or 2 of Binky where they said "Next year we'll be bringing Binky to this racetrack".

I had one of these little Citroen C1s as a loan car last week. I reckon a stripped out and sorted one would be really good fun to drive. lots of sub 80mph fun!

Re: Missing Project Binky?
I bought the wife an Aygo a couple of months ago, the 108, C1 and Aygo are all the same car built in the same factory in the Czech Republic, just different bumpers and badges.
It handles ok, but the 1l three pot has to rev it's tits off to go anywhere near fast, but then I'm more used to a car that does 0-60 in 6 seconds rather than 15 seconds.

I thought the little 3 pot was quite "punchy" for such a small unit, cwertinaly more torquey than Mrs GPs old Suzuki Swift was.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 10:31 am I bought the wife an Aygo a couple of months ago, the 108, C1 and Aygo are all the same car built in the same factory in the Czech Republic, just different bumpers and badges.

Shame you can can't get them pepped up a bit more for the race series..

I used to work with a guy who had the three pot Fester, like the Ecoboost, but without the turbo or supercharger. It made quite a charming noise when he was thrashing it. The Aygo sounds like it's going to explode.

The Up/Mi/Citigo are 3 cylinder, 1 litre motors. Wifey has an Up GTI which is good fun.
