Friday thread. Middle of April

Well, it's not the best weekend here, i'm struggling with man-flu. However i've got to drive to North Wales today for the boys racing. It'll be a tent/van for 2 nights in the cold, which won't help at all... So i'm not exactly looking forward to this one i guess.

Back Sunday night, hopefully with a smiling child.

WFH today then we're out for a Chinese tonight with the F-i-L and Gremlinette who is back home for a week or so.

Saturday will have me in the gym at 8am then doing a bit of gardening, hopefully. Having scarified a couple of lawns the other week then reseeded them I can confirm that they look like they've been scalped and that I appear to have simply provided a pigeon buffet. I don't think one bloody seed has germinated.
Out with an old work colleague and his missus on Saturday. We worked together for over 25 years and if truth be told I miss his presence on the desk, both professionally and personally. I won't tell him that, obviously. We're blokes, after all. ;)

Sunday, long dog walk. Who knows, might even get the Gremlinette to join us walking HER dog.

Today will be spent recovering from yesterday's funeral, which is better described as a celebration of life. Marv! No plans for the rest of the weekend, but I fancy a coastal dog walk and maybe a spot of lunch somewhere...

Neighbours round for food and drinks tonight, normally a late one!
Saturday will probably entail recovery from tonight, but do have a fair bit to do in the garden too!
Sunday, hopefully out for a decent roast and vino somewhere

The weather for today and tomorrow looks a bit crap, but Sunday and early next week looks promising.
What's the betting the Cuntcil will be out gritted on Saturday night?

Mrs.Skub and I will be out breakfasting on Saturday morning regardless of suitable biking weather.

Work today, well, bare minimum as doggo had me up at 3am and I struggled to get back into a deep sleep. Offspring are arriving around dinner time, no surprise there, their plan was for me to cook for them, likely outcome is me emptying my wallet for a takeaway. I’ve promised them a homemade lasagne* in the near future.

Tomorrow, gym, household chores, I really should consider getting a cleaner to help me keep on top of that task. I’m hoping I’ll be in the right mindset to get some paint lashed onto the Plastering’s I did a couple of weeks ago. Mist coat, undercoat and top coat should be achievable assuming I spray it all and there is a reasonable amount of airflow.

Sunday, first training run after a couple of months off, physio has given me the all clear to take it easy and start with short distances. Hopefully it’ll go well  Other that, lawns look like they need a trim, I’ve spotted a sycamore shoot in the privet hedge so that’ll be getting a dose of weed killer!

* I’m planning on making the ragu using a mix of beef cheeks and shin which will hopefully make for a rich flavour and leave me some leftover ragu to toss some some pasta through for a quick dinner with the lasagna ending up in the fridge / freezer for the family to devour!

Early shift Saturday, then 3 nights.
To be honest it’s been a bit hard work the last week. Couple of jobs that stay on the mind so hoping it’s all very slow for the next few days.
Have fun all whatever you’re upto,
Mick

Today: WFH, went for a long lunch with the parents, which was nice 👍 Got my 'end of first quarter' review at 4.30pm, which will put me in either a good or bad mood depending 😆 Then I will set my out of office for a week 😎😎😎

Tomorrow: Lie in. Bit of gardening. The Prodigy & Carl Cox in the evening.

Sunday: Lie in. Might paint the landing ceiling. Turn off morning alarms for a week 🥳

Day off, warm and sunny ride to portchester crematorium to say goodbye to another relative. Absolutely rammed, fair few could not even get into the service and stood outside in the sunshine. Getting old sucks, spend too many days at funerals each year!

Boiler service, new gardener starting, 6 monthly at dentist, an ISA matures.

Might even summon the will to go to the dump with a considerable quantity of old tech kit. I suppose I'd better check a) when it's open and b) whether I have to book and c) whether I need ID to prove I'm a bona fide resident. Haven't been for a while!

All v rock n' roll.

WFH today... so finished the panels in the bathroom, almost. Just the window to line now.

Over the next two days I should be able to get it 99% done. So HID can have a bath again.
