Rear mudguard for FS MTB

I have been using RRP rear mudguards - which help keep some of the shit of the bike / shock
I somehow totalled the one on the Rail yesterday.

Is there anything better than RRP. I don’t want a huge rear protrusion but I see Mucky Nuts seem to do on that is expandable.
Any recommendations with real world experience ?

I use the mucky nutz guard on the bird and it’s pretty good.

It’s not pretty but then none of them are. The Velcro works well to hold it in place too.

You still get some splatter when using the longer guard but it does a decent job at keeping most of it off you, it’s usually only my backpack that gets a bit muddy. The short guard, which I leave on all the time, does a good job at protecting the shock.

I thought you might be - it’s just used to try and keep some of the slop off the shock . Very rarely keeps anything off my arse

The muckynuts one does do a good job protecting the shock.

I only ever really use the long part if I'm going to work and it's damp, I can't be doing with arriving at work coated completely in mud!
