Plan was to just use 4x 4ft LED strip lights in each of the three 8ft fittings in the garage.

That was the plan... :eh:

However, the fittings fell apart when I removed the fluorescence tubes.

Bugger. :angry-cussingblack:

Managed to bodge the old tubes back in again.

So now the garage is getting three complete new fittings. Stay tuned. 8-)

I have a 3' LED one in my loft. If i wanted to add another i can wire it into the other end of the first one. I am sure there must be a limit to how many i can link but handy none the less.

I converted mine to LED last year. Off to B&Q, new tubes come complete with the correct conversion igniters (not igniters for LEDs).

Great, more light, big reduction in energy usage. Win win.

Me too. A great job in the lighting stakes, much brighter in the garage. I've had to replace a couple though, they don't seem to last very long.

I've a couple of daisy chained 6 foot LED battens in the garage, so much better than the single incandescent bulb that was in there

I’ve got 3 x 5 foot LED battens in my 24 x 24 foot garage plus two led bathroom bulkhead light switched by PIR. The battens are more than enough for the space.

If I had a dedicated / fixed workbench the I’d likely add another over that on a separate switch to ensure that area was well lit but the bench is on castors as it serves as an outfeed table for the table saw / assembly bench as such it moved to where it is needed.
