Re: Caberg tourmax x
My mates got the scorpion adx 2 and likes it, but says visor/Peak screws come lose. Mixed reviews. The Caberg is a flip up with peak. Not many about.

Re: Caberg tourmax x
It’s not - I fancied a flipper but couldn’t do polycarbonate - hence the choice

Re: Caberg tourmax x
A few years back I wanted a flipper, but for some reason most I tried touched my chin in the normal closed position (even the Shoei Neotec) which I didn't like.
The only one that didn't was the shark one with the chin bar that looped back behind the helmet, but all the reviews said they were very drafty/noisey.
So I bought an Arai (again).
Her indoors has a carbon Roof, that she flips back to puff on her e-cig, she likes it because it's proper light compared to all the other flip lids she tried.
If it must be a flip in an ADV stylee, then Nexx get some good reviews.

Looks nice that, but it's a bit more than I wanna spend. I don't really need any more but you know how it is. Flip with peak i don't have.

Re: Caberg tourmax x
I have an old Arai Tour-X4, it's alright, but at a decent speed the peak catches the wind and whistles.
I couldn't find a flip that fit or I liked.
TBH, I like the idea of an ADV stylee peaked helmet for riding my ADV bike, but my Arai Quantic is light, fits well and looks good enough that I use it on all my bikes.

I've looked at the Scorpion adf9000, looks like a nice adv helmet. But now m&p have gone, I've nowhere near that I can try one. I have no idea of their sizing. It's on offer on Sportsbike shop, and i know they have a good returns policy but I can't be bothered with the sending back if it doesn't fit.

Re: Caberg tourmax x
Yes I’ve got one.
The peak has had to come off because it isn’t very rigid and when the visor is fully open the peak movement has scored the visor. I was a bit pissed off having to replace the visor.
Flip up mechanism works well, not as good as a Shoei but for a £160 helmet 3 years ago I’m happy with it.
Quite noisy, but that might be the high screen on my tenere directing wind directly in my face.

Re: Caberg tourmax x
I have had one for about 4 years. No issues but it is not the quietest helmet. IMO good value for money but not really in the Shoei Arai class.
And BTW, I have a Caberg shaped head. This is my 4th, and they have all been comfortable.

There's the tourmax and the later tourmax x. Not sure what the differences are and I don't think they come with pinlock included.

Mine came from Sportsbikeshop - the returning is dead easy.Nordboy wrote: Fri Nov 28, 2025 9:44 amI've looked at the Scorpion adf9000, looks like a nice adv helmet. I can wear both Shoei and Arai - and the Scorpion fits true to size, slightly snug at the moment, but it will be ok.

So you reckon if I'm a M (58) shoei, then stick with a M with the Scorpion?Mr Moofo wrote: Fri Nov 28, 2025 3:16 pmMine came from Sportsbikeshop - the returning is dead easy.Nordboy wrote: Fri Nov 28, 2025 9:44 amI've looked at the Scorpion adf9000, looks like a nice adv helmet. Re: Caberg tourmax x
Well I ordered the Caberg tourmax x in gun metal for £191 from moto Central. All the features I wanted and pinlock included, unlike sbs where it was an extra 30 odd £.
Yesterday fitted pinlock and comms unit, bit of a faff as usual, but all good. Not ridden in it yet so a successful purchase hasn't been determined yet.
