Just curious, from another thread on cycling forum about alcoholics etc.

Me, in a given week i guess i'm 3-4 bottles of ale... but if it's a race weekend i'll double that.

None, I get hideous hangovers now so I give it a miss, I feel better for not drinking, and I make less stupid decisions

I don't know, I don't bother counting. Towards the lower end of the scale though, that I do know.

Usually nil. I'll have a glass of wine sometimes if I'm out for a meal and, since I've got about 200 bottles of the stuff, bought 'in-bond', sitting in the Wine Society 'cellars' I might get a case out at the beginning of December and share with a few people that appreciate a good bottle of red.

Pretty much knocked the alcohol thing on the head 3 or 4 years ago though so, if I'm going to have a glass it might as well be good stuff.

I put 16 -25 but reckon sometimes I break 25, all depends what's doing. I don't drink Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Thursday 3 or 4 bottles/cans, but sometimes just 2. Recently been trying some fairly strong ales 500ml. Think about 3 units each. So totalling up its well over 14 units.

Thursday is my new Friday and starts the weekend drinking. Friday is similar and Saturday, not much on Sunday, unless I go to the pub. The weeks are never quite the same so it all depends tbh.

Just to add, sometimes I'll have a bottle of wine instead of the beers and occasionally finish with a brandy n coke.

Enough to suggest that 25+ is a very broad category!

Some days 500ml of beer, some days a glass or 2 of red wine, some days both, some days nothing.

My preferred spirit, absinthe, varies so much too. Some is as low as 40%, others are up in the 90s.

A smidge over NHS guidelines at 1/2 bottle of bourbon and 2 bottles of cider / beer, which is about half of what I was drinking earlier this year

I get through maybe a litre of bourbon JB or JD every three days.

I usually have a beer first tho' just to warm up.

How many units in a can of beer? I'll drink more in the summer than winter, only ever bottles/cans, maybe 10-15 a week in summer, 0-5 in winter. I only drink when I'm out and there's more going out in the summer. I never drink spirits and very rarely drink wine.

A friends piss head wife has put me off alcohol a bit. She's the wine for breakfast, gin for lunch type of drinker with no interests other than going to bars. Trips to hospital with head injuries where she's fallen over are several times a year, with the occasional longer stay for alcohol poisoning or withdrawal if she's been on a bender.

Pre Covid about 6 pints on a Saturday night,maybe a couple of bottles of beer one night midweek.
Post covid 2 bottles of beer twice a week maybe 3 bottles occasionaly.When lockdown started,unlike certain politicians we weren't alowed to go for social drinks & when lockdown was lifted,like a lot of people I'd got out of the habit.My pisspot mate's were quickly back into boozing,myself I'd rather spend the money on petrol for the bikes

Similar to the Cheese and the Count,I'm pretty much dry these days and have been for a few years.

I went from several litres of spirit a week to nothing and it was hard because I loved to drink. I'm now at the stage where I can enjoy the odd glass of wine with a meal,or the occasional draught Guinness. I honestly thought I'd never get to where I am now,if a bottle was opened,it would be finished. My quality of life has improved out of measure.

Usually nowt, I might have the occasional bottle of beer if I remember to buy from the supermarket but I don’t miss it if I haven’t any in.

I used to drive for a living so I never got into the habit of regularly drinking. Even when I went out with the lads I usually ended up being the designated driver anyway. I don’t know if you can build up a tolerance or if it’s just my metabolism but I was always a pretty lightweight anyway and chucking up at the end of the night soon gets old.

Hardly anything these days, a four pack of bitter will last a few months. Sometimes so long that I have to check the best before date. Mrs S L drinks even less. She says beer tastes like horse piss. She won't tell me how she knows!

I reckon 2-3 pints a week on average but it's usually on a binge - one pub night every 3-4 weeks where I'll have between 5-6 pints. Don't drink at home, not for any reason than it's not my thing.

Full sugar Coke and chocolate are more of an issue for me than alcohol.

Always been a drinker. As a young bloke i was in the pubs every night and clubs at weekend. When had young kids we got into home drinking. I mainly drink red wine, but beer or cider if at a pub on a sunny day. I drink a hell of lot less than I used too, but do binge at time, 2, 3 or even 4 bottles of red a night at weekends. But I do only drink cheap reds with 10%abv. No way I could drink that many bottles of higher abv reds.I've almost stopped drinking during the week though as I foudn I was quite good at my job when I wasn't hung over!

4 bottles of red a night. I managed three once as 14% I gave up trying to get up for bed i had to kip in the sofa.
