Bye bye, Triumph...?

A change of office location means I can longer ride to work. The might Triumph Tiger 900 RallyPro sits forlornly in the garage, like a caged big cat.

Do I sell or keep?

The 'Sell' arguments are strong:

- Sell it and bank the money.

- Make room in the garage.

- The 'Nothing is forever' argument. Can get something else at a later date.

- I don't get time to ride it for pleasure, nor for trips, if I'm honest.

The 'Keep' arguments are less convincing:

- I fucking love it.

I'm in a quandry.

If you just need room in the garage then I'll set fire to the himalayan and you can lend it to me :-)

Buy a Zero or a LiveWire and force them to put in not just a parking space but also a charger just for you. :D

Once they've done that, sell it and buy a GSXR1000, or a Kawasaki H1 like skub

Not everything we do has to sit on the right side of reason. Just keep it and enjoy it. If you get rid of it you’ll be sad every time you open the garage door to be greeted by no bike.

If you don't ride it for fun at weekends etc, then just sell it. Cant see the point of watching something bioth rust and depreciate.

OK, you crazy muthas.

Who's got a 'leccy bike or got experience of them? In theory I could sell the mighty Triumph and get a second-hand 'leccy to see me through for a year or two 'til retirement.

The below list seems a reasonable barometer of cost and availability.

Thoughts? Preference of make? I have sod all knowledge.

To lower a new 'leccy bike's owners expectation, I expect.

I have no idea on leccy bikes, this might help as a brief overview maybe
https://www.motorcyclenews.com/advice/b ... otorbikes/

I quite like the look of those Maevings as they have a sort of vintage look to them, probably not good for commuting though with kit.

I would say fuggit and keep the Triumph but if it really will just sit there and not be used then you may as well move it on. You can always buy another if things change.

Or flog the Triumph and replace it with a tricked up super loud Grom for getting milk from the local shop and do wheelies and skids n shit to piss the neighbours off.

Make time, you have weekends off. From where you are half of France and all of Holland/Belgium/Luxembourg is available for a weekend. And Wales, the Peak District and the Lakes.

There was someone else too. I said the other day that one thing having an electric car has taught me is that I dont want an electric bike and he said the for him it was the opposite. I mean to ask him for more details but cant find the post now.
