What's the thoughts on side hanging number plates. ?

They look stupid

On a low riding custom with a fat rear tyre, maybe.

Anything else, nope.

Depends on how sturdy your mates shins are.

They look crap and are not legal so will attract unwanted attention from bored coppers.

They're the rear wheel equivalent of pedestrian slicers on the front wheel. Don't go there.

I'd love one on the GSXR but it might ground out on bends

I've got one on my bobber. I've never had a problem with the po po or the MoT. I keep tripping over it though.

AFAIK the plate has to be fixed to the rearmost part of the vehicle. Nit picking perhaps, but ACAB.

Nah, just at the rear.

IIRC there's some construction and use section that says the rear tyre can't be the back most part, and number plates on ridiculous mounts from the factory have been used to comply with that, so moving it to the side breaks that, but then so do many tail tidy's.

Meh, either way, I've never had my collar felt, and this is the second bike with a side mount I've had.

They look really cool with you HOG jacket , your Harley jeans and boots, and a tasseled jacket.
Other than that they look like you are trying to be badass …

If they trigger this many people, I think i'll put one on the AT!
