Do you prefer one motorcycle manufacturer more than others - even to the point where you justify your choice but you know that you're talking bollocks and only bought the bike because you like the company that made it.

For me it's Yamaha, this goes back to 1985 when I bought an RD250LC, it was the first bike I owned that didn't do any of the following hole pistons, seize, have a wiring loom made of crumbly cheese and it also went round corners nicely.
Bizarrely I also like Suzukis, despite the first 3 of those that I owned holing pistons, seizeing, having wiring looms mad out of crumbly cheese and not going round corners very well.

If someone offered me an RC45, RC30 or an OW01, I'd take the OW.
I own 2 Yamahas (soon to be 3) and a Kawasaki, I've spent more on the Kawasaki but I'm still not sure I actually want it, I have no such doubts about the Yamahas.

Clearly yes with KTM. But over the years you'd have said same with Ducati and even Yamaha previously.

I've been quite lenient with KTM quirks over the years, more than some would have

As long as it's not italian, then anything is fair game!

Another Kawasaki mainliner here.

I've had the usual mix of marques in the past,but I couldn't honestly see me ever buying anything other than Kawasaki now.

Nothing rational about my mindset,I'm well aware of the big K's shortcomings in the past,but they've always managed to make a motorcycle that flaps my flag more than the other manufacturers.

When I was younger teens and 20s, always a Yamaha man. Later in life i'll try any marque really even though I am nervous of reliability issues of European bikes.

Most of my bikes have been Yamahas, a few of Kawasakis, just one Suzuki and the one I do have a bit of a prejudice against is Honda.
Not because their bikes are in any way shape or form bad, more that they had a "We know better" attitude to restrictions when I was at an impressionable age.
The other manufacturers just put a washer in the spannie you could bray out with a punch or a wire connector you could pull and have full power. Honda used to put a washer in the spannie, restrict the ignition, put a different main jet in and whatever else they could think of.

A right cunt for an over enthusiastic youf. All my Honda mates were left in my Fizzie dust mofos.

Lets face it, I'm 48 and long past the point where a mopeds power is an issue for me but even though I've had a couple of Hondas I still have a prejudice against them.

Ownership wise I'm evenly split between Honda and Triumph.

I have quite an affection for the big H. I guess it's cause they make the kinda bikes I'd make: I.e. ones that just work aka are dull.

Even demo's reason for disliking them makes me like them more. That's exactly the kinda thing I'd do if someone asked me to restrict a bike. Do it properly.

I've had a couple of CBR600s and VFRs, and a Firestorm and a couple of other Hondas. Like Mr. D says, they just work, mostly.

I like Triumphs, specifically I like Speed Triples

My recent bikes have been Ducati, MV Agusta, Aprillia, Yamaha, Triumph... maybe I'm just a tart?

I like to think I’m a Honda person more than anything else, I’ll buy most but not really Aprilia although I am contemplating one now.
But I have 3 Hondas and an Enfield at the moment and happy with them

Nope no loyalty to ny brand in particular as i buy what i want at the time but did have 3 BMW's in a row in my yoof and quite a few Kawasaki's over the years. In 35 years i have only owned 3 Yamaha's including the current Fazer and the others were an LC and a shit XS400 in the late 80's.

I have only ever owned 1 Honda, a crap 250 SuperDream in the late 90's just to get to and from work in a city centre.

The last 5 years has been 2 Ducati's

Partly because I wanted shaft drive & tourer, not too many to choose from

I have no particular brand loyalty but have owned 5 BMW's purely because they came at the right time at the right price none were particularly unreliable over any other bike. Did buy a Ducati of Balbas on a whim loved the engine but the riding position crippled me so no more ducatis for me. Love my Burgman 650 but getting a bit long in the tooth mileage wise so will change next year for well another Burgman of course. Also have a Yam Tracer but would buy what suits me at the time.

I've had several suzukis, hondas, KTMs & Aprilias, and just one each of BMW, Yamaha & Triumph.

each bike bought on the wants and needs at the time, next bike will be a DCT Africa Twin
