I was out driving around the coast on Sunday and I couldn't help but think about how awesome the roads would be on a supermoto.
A few beers and Facebook Marketplace later....
It's not particularly tidy, rusty fasteners tell a tale of a bike that hasn't been washed properly after use. But it is well serviced and I got it for £3075.
New tyres fitted today as the rear was square!! That has helped. I think new head bearings would be good too, but as I was able to 1st gear drift it around the industrial estate this eve, it's not too bad !
But I'm leaving for France in less than a week, so the bike will be parked for winter !

I called the local dealer for a Certificate Of Conformity, in case i do decide to register it in France. £250 they quoted, for a piece of paper!!!. I told them KTM UK had said they were £150 when I spoke to them last May. "KTM have put the price up" was the excuse !!!
Well eff it, I have the CoC for my 690 duke and photoshop is less than £250 !!!

I put new tyres on (Bridgestone B21), new grips and axle sliders.
The front rim appears to be cracked !! I stripped the wheel down, the crack doesn't appear to penetrate past the paint. I found a used wheel on Ebay for £255 and decided it was worth that for piece of mind !
I did get out for a quick ride, I was cautious of the front wheel, so I couldn't really hook it. I can co firm that the bike flies, handles and stops well. With a flick of the clutch, it'll lift the front at 50mph!
I'm off to France on Tuesday and the bike is staying here

UPDATE:
The new (to me) front wheel arrived. It's from a 2020 bike, not only is it in mint condition, it also has a lurvely matte finish. In fact it looked so nice, I went and bought the matching rear.

I've been back in the UK a couple weeks and zi could not wait to get out on this bike.
Its a absolute weapon, loud and brings the worst out in me.
I've done a little digging as it wasn't advertised as having any extras, but it goes like stink (not for the fient hearted, wheelies in every gear etc etc).
It's got a K and N filter, a full exhaust system from Dominator and I assume it has been mapped to suit.
I absolutely love it, but I am considering buy a 950/990 SM to calm down a bit?!
I was worried about just how noisy it is. Until I sat outside a bar in Plymouth with MissMiniMofo (will anyone remember her??). I was shocked by the frequency of bikes and cars with loud loud exhaust set ups

I've had 6 950sm and wouldn't buy again because of plastic tank issues.
Would I risk a 990, mmmm maybe

I had a 950Sm and initially thought it was the bike I'd waited all my life for. Sadly it let me down too many times and drank oil quicker than Olly Reed drank scotch, but what a bike!!

When the 990 came out, I test rode the two back to back. 990 was the one to have! I wasn't aware of the tank issues with 950's maybe that's why theyve started dropping under £3k?

They have a number of tank issues
1. Fuel seeps and destroys decals
2. Fuel pump area weakness
3. Sender unit failing
4. Leaking at bottom.
All can kinda be fixed but in truth, nah.
I think the orange 990sm is lovely

I had a 950 SMR, bloody fantastic bike. Fast without being deadly serious fast like the ZH2 is.

I had 2 smr, maybe 3 actually, possibly 2. They were brilliant.
I picked one up on a Monday and took it to Germany in the Tues.
