Its worth checking your TVs output is set for it inbuilt speakers and not an external dolby 5.1 or suchlike as this will compound the problem.

Fair call, but not sure in truth our TV would have the facility, but i'll go looking later.

For some stuff we've resorted to turning the volume down and using subtitles. Film soundtracks have been pish for some time now, often the music overrides the dialogue.

And before you all say I'm corn beef,my three speed gears are surprisingly good for an old boi. :P

People who 'dither' at junctions.
Twice today I nearly rear ended some dodering old fart ( not the same fart) at a roundabout.
It was clear enough for them AND me to go, then they do the 'insurance roll' as I call it, go forwards 2-3'......and stop.
The sooner they bring in compulsory re-testing the better, and clear the roads of myopic traffic calming

How much do they hold you up? A minute? Two minutes?

Are you so important that your journey has to be completed without any delay at all? Just leave 5 or 10 minutes earlier if it's so important to arrive on time.

Come the revolution brother, last fag and against the Wall you go.
I can accept, grudgingly, delays to my journey.
Ineptitude is what grinds my gears, and people that dither in nearly every aspect of their life.
You know, the ones who are surprised at a supermarket checkout that they need some form of payment, and possibly a loyalty card too. 'Hold on dear, I know its in here somewhere'

They're probably the same ones that, sat at the wheel of their immaculate, washed and polished every Sunday, umpteen horsepower ÂŁ50k+ car, can't do more than 35 in the 40 or 50 limit (slight bends and trees etc!) then piss off into the distance once they reach a village with a 30mph limit. :wtf:

I've ended up using safari browser because google was no longer supported by my MacBook and I can't update it !?

So I've been going through the rigmarole of remembering / deciphering my passwords.

What gets me is when I get the password wrong and safari helpfully asks "do you want me to remember your selection" FFS I thought the people that designed this guff were supposed to be clever ! ?

I know teenagers are generally a bit odd/stupid/daft/uncaring etc etc, lacking in some self preservation !!!

BUT -

walking in front of a moving bus at a bus stop ??

playing football in the area reserved for a LOT of school buses and when one arrives, not moving ?? And when the last one did actually move, he gave me a look that said "what the fuck are you doing here and why are you making ME move out of the middle of the bus area??"

Honestly, I despair for humans !! If these grow up to be similar adults I'm gonna go live on an remote island and never have to drive again !!!

(I know that not all teenagers are the same, but a lot of them really are stupid!!!)

Moronic shop staff:

"I'm sorry sir I had no idea that we stocked that different model of that item, or that it even existed."

Two minutes later: "We take great pride in being knowledgeable about the brands we sell and the items they produce."

FFS.

Impatient fuckers behind me at junctions. FFS, all I need is a couple of minutes to adjust my string-back driving gloves, sort out the creases in my Ordinance Survey map and reach for a boiled sweet from the tin on the dashboard.

Tardiness…

Daughters booked in to come for dinner tonight, mid week it was can we come early as one is heading out for a birthday do, the other then pipes up with ‘we’re going out after to watch the boxing’. Fine, fairy nuff.

Lunchtime, “probably going to be between 5.30 / 6pm before we get there”, from one of them, nothing from the other

6pm arrives and passes… “we’re getting picked up by my sister” says D2

6.30pm, “we are on our way” says D1, “where from” asks I, response, “from her home” says the other one. Her home is 30-40 minutes away…

I hope they like overcooked food and do the fucking washing up!!

Needless to say, I will be having words

Bastarding driver "aids"

FFS, how is it an "aid" if it just distracting/blocking vision ??? :angry-cussingblack: :angry-cussingblack: :angry-cussingblack:

I did my first big coach transfer this morning for current job (big is about the coach, only 16 passengers!!). Got to depot for a 3:45 start, a smidge early (ok, only five mins!) just cos I was nervous that I might need extra time as not driven this coach in the dark and no one was gonna be around if I had a problem before I set out.

Anyway, driver anti-aids -

You know on cars there are little triangles in the wing mirrors that light up when another vehicle gets close (possibly if you get too close to something other than a vehicle too??) ??

Well some fuckwitterywanker decided this is a good idea at the bottom outside corner of the equivalent on the coache - the gurtly big 'wing' mirrors that stick out ahead of the coach to see the rearview!). Fine, maybe I need to "see" something to warn me I might be close to something, cos the side of the seat vibrating if too close to the edge of the road isn't enough of a distraction?

Whoever designed this set up has never driven a coach in the dark

It lights up when you are close to the edge of the road when there's a wall/fence/rocky bank etc. Useful you say? Not when it blocks the only bit of vision I actually have of the edge of the bus at road level FFS :angry-cussingblack: :angry-cussingblack:

THEN - driving through/around the edge of Annecy (still pretty dark but daylight filtering through a bit) and I have to take the wider line on a right exit which means I will be facing a road sign for a brief moment. Normal driving position, no stress, no need to worry cos would hit the kerb if I didn't go wide that that.

Oh nooooo - fuckwitterybastardingwankering "aid" flashed up a big red warning triangle on the dash while blaring out a warning noise as well :angry-cussingblack: :angry-cussingblack: Seriously? I did nearly hit the fucking sign when I jumped at the flashing light and warning "siren"

WTF designs this shit and if they've driven the vehicle they are designing it for, especially in the dark, then they should be taken out and hung drawn and quartered very very fucking slowly :angry-cussingblack: :angry-cussingblack: :angry-cussingblack: :angry-cussingblack: :angry-cussingblack: (and if they haven't WTF are they responsible for adding this shit anyway??????? )

Yup, tired and emotional!!   But actually it was a good transfer and there was no fresh snow on the roads in Tignes so that was a serious bonus - heavy rain from Annecy to GVA, but it was much less dark by then   :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde: :obscene-drinkingcheers: :obscene-drinkingcheers: :obscene-drinkingcheers:
