With Quooker, it's instant - ask my daft step-son! It's kept at boiling point in a vacuum flask, so no delay
At, or near?

One in our group has dexterity difficulty, really struggled with the press-press-twist.

I get a message from someone on ebay regarding my van.

He informs me he's a cash buyer, so wants it for £3500 less than the advertised price.

a cash buyer...... as opposed to what exactly??

Makes him sound like a twat who has no experience handling/ spending 5 figure amounts !!

As opposed to someone who wants to pay in kind?

I had a similar experience selling a car: "How much to end the auction early? My sister crashed her car and needs to get another quickly."

My reply: "I don't know how much the car is worth, that's why it's an auction. Also, about half the cars on ebay have a 'buy it now' price. Tell her to buy one of those."

Chancer: "No need to be rude."

Bloody Amazon and it's searches.

I specifically searched for Fully synthetic 10w50 oil.

First match

Motul Semi synthetic 10w50

Well you twat hammocks, enjoy paying the postage both ways then.

And yes, I should have read the description properly, but also, they should show me what I asked for first and alternatives after!

Went to Costco with roomie yesterday, fucking Friday, worse day of the week. We usually go Tuesday or Wednesday, early.

Couldn't go the usual days because this time her 42yo son wanted to go with us, so it got put off until Friday. didn't get out of his goddamn pit until noon, then he had to shower etc so we didn't get over there until 1pm (we'd been ready to go for hours by that point). & what did the useless fuck want while we were there? A slice of goddamn pizza from the food court while he wandered around the place, the two items he wanted to actually buy (fucking almond milk & some sort of protein drink) could have been picked up by us without his presence.

But who doesn't like a meal at a private members club?

Surcharges.
I’ve planned to go to the last meeting of the year for the Aussie Superbikes (where Kyle Ryde is racing a Supersport)
Checking the price online, and it’s 70aud plus a 5.5d fee.
Paying at the gate on the Day is the 70, plus a 5d card fee.
I phoned the circuit today to ask if it was possible to pay cash at the gate, and after a while got an answer, yes, but that incurs a fee……of 5 dollars….
Now I’m not poor (yet) but it’s the principle that irks.

Last years MotoGP in Valencia was cancelled and moved to Barcelona. The ticket for Valencia wasn't valid for Barcelona, you had to buy a new ticket. The original ticket had a processing fee on it which wasn't refunded and they charged a processing fee on the refund. Robbing wankers.

below those options, it is written

"It is not possible make this type of Transfer Later"

Well, erm, which coding monkey thought it was a good idea to put the option there in the first place ??!

You have no idea how much idiocy us coding monkeys have to put up with from upper management types on simple UI shit like this.

Coding monkey only builds what's asked for! Blame the business analysts that specced it.

My banking app does the same. I raise an eyebrow but it doesn't affect the temperature of my P or wind me up. :D

What does, a tad, is getting a message in the NHS app saying 'make a review appointment, use this link. Expires in 7 days'. Going through the 'enter DoB' etc to get 'There are no appointment slots' for 5 days.

Walk into surgery. Receptionist says 'Is Saturday (!) OK?'

:wtf:

I wish there was a way to set search engines for "exactly what I asked for only"

I whinged last week about Amazon showing me non synthetic oil when I specifically searched for fully synthetic.

Now I have google at it. I specifically searched for a specific TV that I want. What do I get

This ones cheap
this ones cheaper[
this ones on a deal
this one delivers tomorrow

but NOT EVEN ONE of the top matches is the model I've asked for !

Because people pay money to be top of the search listing.

Using Google this works for me:

fully synthetic oil site:amazon.co.uk

I know, it's shit. I had their broadband and then they offered TV to me for free for a year. It's so bad I think I've only used it a handful of times. They won't take it away now, even though I'm not paying for it.

Try putting the search in double quotes

"Fully Synthetic oil"

Awaiting delivery of a book. Checked tracking this morning...
USPS1aa.JPG
USPS1aa.JPG (57.2 KiB) Viewed 347 times

USPS loses almost $182M/week... ($9.5Billion last year). I wonder why?
To get from LA to Bakersfield you pretty much have to drive past Lancaster... & this happens with 100% of the mail coming to Lancaster. It goes North from LA to Bakersfield one day & then comes back South again the next day 200 mile round trip).
.. altho usually just the once, unlike this dumbassery.
They used to send two trucks from LA to Lancaster every day & another two to Bakersfield. Then, to cut costs(??) they changed it to four trucks to Bakersfield every day & then two trucks from Bakersfield to Lancaster.. so all our mail goes on an overnight trip to Bakersfield & back again... "to cut costs".
Mail from Lancaster to LA also goes 100 miles North to Bakersfield for an overnight visit before heading South to LA.

For the UK equivalent, this is like sending mail from London to Cambridge via Wolverhampton.

I had a demand (with threat of CCJ) for £170 from a debt collector for an unpaid parking charge. I politely told them their client was wasting everyone's time as it couldn't possibly be my car.
They sent a reply with a photo of a different car with a similar reg number and still demanded £170.

When are there going to be proper restrictions and punishments for these scam artists?
