I grown used to articles of my clothing disappearing into the Gremlinette's wardrobe. Nice t-shirts, one of my nice white shirts, countless pairs of trainer socks...

But at the weekend I had to draw a line in the sand when she held up a pair of my camouflage pattern Saxx underpants and declared that they would look really cool with her low-cut jeans.

Front left tire pressure sensor crapped out. Thought it was covered under warranty.. turns out there's a $100 deductible.

Got home & looked up the part on line... $34 for a set of 4 on Ebay... provided they're bought for an F150, not an ST. No idea why the hell they cost more for an ST, they're the same part #

Local American Tire will dismount a tire, swap out the sensor, remount & balance it for $22... (just had two valve stems replaced on my '96 F350 inner duals) so it COULD have been a $30.50 repair. At least I'll know when the next one shits the bed.

Service writer at the Ford dealer mentioned they have someone else's Explorer in to have two replaced. Total cost: $382.00.
My suggestion that he call the woman, mention EBay for sensors & American Tire for the work wasn't well received.

But, I suspect, the standard supermarket versions we get here aren't necessarily the best examples of the products. It's hard to imagine Edam being anything other than a slab of vaguely cheeselike hobbyists material though.

Not so, I quite like a slice of Edam on a burger, it has good melting properties on the BBQ and a reasonable taste, but the supermakert were all out so I picked up the Leerdammer, never again, and I was only looking for Edam after running out of Emmental which is even better on the barbie.

Yeah, I wasn't clear with 'the standard supermarket stuff we get here' - makes it sound like that's all you can get in the UK. I have had some quite tasty Gouda and Emmenthal from a cheesemonger*. Only ever buy Comte and Manchego in the supermarket really.

As for on a burger, Dairylea 'cheese' slices will do.

Hungry Guest deli. Not sure what's happening with the HG lot though. Their butcher, by the car park, seemed to come - and go. The café moved, their fishmonger has been closed for ages...

However, the cheese counter in the Cowdray farm shop at Midhurst is pretty They used to stock Hungry Guest bread too but that's changed as well.

There's a restaurant in Rome that has two cheese trolleys, one for blue cheeses and the other for the rest. It also specialised in offal dishes. It was a good feed.
