Elvis has not been eating much lately and getting worse.
Vet did xray this morning and he has 2 big growths on his oesophagus.
Can't do anything and he can't eat.
Vet says it's time to let him go.
She's gonna call Monday and she'll come to our house when it's suitable.
At least we've got a weekend to say goodbye.
He's 14 but otherwise OK. Loves his short walks
Aw bugger
That little chap has been an important part of your life.

Real sorry to her that mate. It's the worst part of pet ownership. You clearly gave him a good life and he has no doubt returned you some fond memories...

Feels like Elvis has been part of all our lives I think.

That sucks.
Very sorry to hear it. You've got lots of good memories to cherish.

Damn, so sorry.
Worse thing about having dogs is the attachment you get to them and the void once they've gone. At least the Good Boy will not be suffering....

The missus was finally able to give full story .
These 2 big tumors are also causing his breathing problems. Always short panting.
They're only gonna get worse and cause more problems.
We're shoving strawberry Greek yogurt down his throat in a syringe. He's not struggling so seems to understand we're helping.
And just bought some baby food as recommended by vet.
Just wanna make him feel ok

Antibiotics. (Sort of).
Just had a 5 day crash course of a wide spectrum antibiotic (had a gum infection thank to an impacted wisdom tooth).
It's wiped out my carefully curated, happy little colony of bugs in my gut biome.
Pass the kimchi, sauerkraut, Benecol.....
(It did fix the gum problem though).

Jonah car being Jonah car. Despite more parking sensors than you can shake a stick at Mrs M managed to find a stealth coated concrete post. I have decided that this car is destined to be “the one” everything happens too.

Only just seen this. Really sad to hear this, they leave an indelible print on our memories and psyche. At least you're making his final days as comfortable as they can be. It's the unfortunate downside to all the pleasure they give us.

FIL just had his furry friend put to rest. Sadly he ought to have done the poor old fella a favour many months ago. The vet told him time and time again to do the right thing, but he couldn't do it. I last saw the dog in April and it was awful to see, so I'm glad he's off and running in a field far away.
Brings our loss back and it hurts.
They bring so much and ask so little.

I mean on the plus side he's probably going to fire me because I've accidentally trodden on his precious little toes, so with any luck I won't have to put up with him for too much longer.
Though I will be destitute...

You'll be able to find equivalent work fairly easily, I'd have thought?
I had a boss that, try as I might, I couldn't shake off. I tried applying for jobs in other teams, but he found out and scotched it. This did not improve our working relationship. He was a nicro-managing, what's the question? the answer's no kind of boss. And then just before I decided to retire, he fucked off to Denmark. Lucky old Danes...

I'm a bit too senior to find equivalent roles plentiful. But find another I can.
However I've just (three weeks ago) brought in somebody from my old team at my old place and I don't really want to immediately abandon him in the shit. So if I do go, it won't be voluntarily. For now at least.

I was in Denmark last week, I could have fire-bombed his house for you
Anyway, I'm now updating my CV in case of emergency deployment...

Shit bosses are the pits. Although the worst of mine in the UK is why I live in the Alps !!! Long way to go to get away, but 100% worth it
The winter ex boss is the first I've found here on a par with the worst in the uk, luckily I found another local job without having to change countries again
Good luck lovely - cross fingers there's a way to get the shit boss out and you to stay !

Whichever fool decided that the tiedowns in a van I'm using need raised circular protectors. Really handy if you want to fill it with plastic crates.
