Mozzies.
It appears I gave blood overnight. Wouldn't be so bad if I didn't react so badly. I'm in for a few days of itching.
Plug-in mozzicide dispenser #1 now deployed.
Better late than never.
On the

side....we're not a malaria zone. Yet.

Have a look on Google or Amazon for "electric mosquito bite relief" then buy one. Also, ask in your local chemist.

Cheers.
I have several.
(Mentioned it before but a tip I picked up from, of all things, an episode of Death in Paradise, was the use of haemorrhoid cream! - the lidocaine in it works wonders

).
After a few trips around Turkey inc one to the east where I ended up looking like the elephant man I gathered a bit of a mozzie-bite arsenal. Oddly though, one of the worst places was Brussels. I wondered why the supermarkets had such an array of anti-moz stuff. Then I found out.

Which is when I started my collection of plug-in mozzicide dispensers. Only problem is that, if you use them overnight, you should open a window, which invites them in, so I 'fumigate' during the day and try not to sleep in a room with one switched on ie I'll leave one on in another room or in the hall overnight just to try and get the house clear but not have one on where I'm sleeping. I don't think it's particularly healthy stuff to breathe for extended periods.
If this is the shape of things to come I foresee mozzie-nets being installed before long. V. tropical.

Boots 'Liquid Mosquito Killer' is probably the easiest to get your mitts on. Oh..don't just buy a refill by mistake. It's not an impossible error to make.
That high pitched 'nyeeeeeeee' at night is one of the most

sounds I know of.

Bloke on a campsite was saying how good his Flextail Repeller is and the reviews did seem to back it up, but I did read the same thing he also said and that was the battery life is limited and the refill mat things looked dear to me, so I didn't buy one, but I might yet? I'd prefer it if you bought one before me and gave us a decent evaluation to save me possibly wasting my money!

One of the good things about here is that there are no mozzies. Not had a bite in 10 years.

No standing water or puddles for larvae to grow.

Not enough alcohol in my spit to have any effect.
(I really do react badly and, if there's anything around that bites, I'm the target

People should hire me to take on their holidays to flying

biting

thing

zones

as the sacrificial target).
PS Anyone that does react badly and wants to try the haemorrhoid cream trick - some of them have hydrocortisone (steroid/anti-inflammatory) and not lidocaine (anaesthetic) in.

I’m pretty sure I have a throat spray with lidocaine in it - will try and remember that next time I get bitten!
(I did get bitten twice yesterday but don’t seem to be reacting too badly for now! Guess they weren’t mozzies

)

Ooh! Good call.
Just checked the 'medicine drawer of many past-used-by-date items' and there's an in-date, unopened throat spray containing novocaine. Could be handy.
Fortunately the plug-in seems to have done the trick so no new itchy lumps n' bumps.

I had to perform CPR on a lady involved in a road accident a while ago. Whilst I was doing this, people were filming both me and the casualty. I just don't understand the mentality of it.

It's a horrible side of society.
I am reasonably sure that over here you aren't allowed (legally) to film or photograph someone without their permission, let alone share the film. So this happens less. But, lots of things are 15-20 years behind the uk, so I'm sure things will change for the worse sometime soon

I find it astonishing that even in things like machete-wielding terrorist attacks, some people have the reaction "must video this" rather than "Fark! Run!"
