Re: The riding challenge game. Pic of your bike 'somewhere'
The full Hawkwind story as promised, cut and pasted from Facebook, I appreciate there are references no one else will get
Guilty as charged !! Not quite a banksy but it certainly has stood the test of time well ! 1976 ! I was Waiting for the 204 bus with a block of yellow wax in my pocket that i used for writing part numbers on exhaust pipes where I worked as a storeman at O G Barnard and sons .
It's was a spontaneous moment and one of my only two pieces of graffiti ever...
The other being an anarchy sign and 'no future ' that I wrote on the wall under the Grey bridge at Hawks mill after leaving school without a job in 1976 and being told that I was 'factory fodder' by the careers teacher at stowmarket high school!
I am still a Hawkwind fan and record and memrabilia collector .
in 2017 I became good friends with Hawkwind founder member Micheal 'Dikmik ' Davies who was then living in Ipswich . This friendship began when I embarked on collecting over 100 signatures of hawkwind, former hawkwind members performers and road crew etc spanning there 50 year career.
Sadly We lost Dikmik to cancer in 2018.
In june 2019 I held a memorial party at Newton cottage barking which was attended by over 150 fans and around 20 ex hawkwind members came to show there love and respect for Dikmik . Some traveling from as far as Sweden and Poland and one of the dancers from the 1973 Space ritual tour 'Miss Renee' flew in from Calafornia .
It was a truly special day where the autograph project raised over £3000 for animal welfare charitys and the highlight for the fans was ' the spirit of dikmik ' a band made up of many of ex hawks including founder member Nik Turner .
Dikmik always smiled to himself when we drove past the bus stop . Sadly I never got round to taking the photograph we planned to give the hawkwind fans on social media a laugh... A picture of dikmik wearing an asbo jacket trying to scrub the graffiti off !
Onward flys the bird . Wolfie .

Sadly not my story, but someone calling himself Wolfie Smith, I think he lived up the hill from us.

Arse- too slow!
May as well post the pic whilst I'm here though I guess
There's a very interesting stock of cars there, if you're into expensive cars-

Next challenge would be a very easy one for me as I have strike command bomber command and RAF Bovingdon all relatively local and an easy ride away, but I won't get a chance to get out on the bike tomorrow so someone else can get that

Bike with aircraft is easy for me, I'm surrounded by current RAF and USAF bases, disused airfields and air museums, but I doubt if I'll get the chance to take the bike out before Friday.

Had a ride out for a couple of hours this afternoon and had a look at the current task while I stopped for a brew so popped by the Norfolk and Suffolk Aircraft Museum near Bungay in Suffolk

There's one round the corner from me, practically opposite Ling's Ipswich shop, be a bit of a cheat for me, it's so close I could push the bike there.

Not against the rules, however you have Mildenhall and Lakenheath so that area is crawling with Yank Mobiles not that far away and the weather forecast is decent tomorrowLe_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 10:28 pm There's one round the corner from me, practically opposite Ling's Ipswich shop, be a bit of a cheat for me, it's so close I could push the bike there.
