Funny thing was that at the garage where the car ended up for the more reasonable repair, a mechanic asked me if I did absolution (forgiveness of sins)
The combination of these two things would set my spidey sense off somewhat :D

Is it not worth waiting for the blackberries to ripen? (maybe that's already happened, I lose track cos we don't really have fruit up this high!! LOL)
Yes, but I'm hoping to pin a lot of it back and trim some of it, it's partially blocking a pathway.

We eat loads of berries, so I've got blackberries, Logan berries, Honey berries, raspberries, blueberries, etc.
Ahh, I had thought (in a quick read) that tame would be chop back!! Sorry. Tame is more about tying back I guess in gardening!

I'm very envious of all those berries

This morning I took a wheel off an electric scooter (similar size to a small motorbike wheel!!!), took the tyre and tube off, changed a spoke and put it all back together!

Two issues -

couldn't get the wheel back in - it's not a loose spindle and I had the wheel "upside down" - but once the position of the wheel was pointed out, that went back in very well.

I tightened the spoke far too much :( So will sort that later!

Sooo much to learn as I've never done anything technical with cycles and the scooters are just oversized cycles with no pedals!! So it's all very new! But, hopefully I'll learn fast in the next couple of weeks ready for the really busy August weeks :D :D

Spokes are not simple things to work on and can behave in unexpected ways, you might have a few wtf moments in future.

Half dismantled the oven as it decided to half stop working the day before we have visitors arriving. It's a double oven and I thought I might be able to swap the control boxes over. I can but not to a point where it functioning properly.

It's a 25 year old Neff and the parts I need are not available.

@Taipan has a spare oven in his loft. You want gas or electric ?

Was thinking that!!

One of the things he did yesterday on the non electric scooter was 'tap' each spoke to hear the 'song' (or ping!!) it made and say that they should all be similar!!!

So today I do that and one of them makes no song - it sounds dead! I tried to explain it to him but it was in the two mins between classes, so hopefully we'll get a chance after lunch!

It is making me think I just need to MTFU to go see why the Monster dumped it's fuel and why the left peg vibrates painfully!! It's more scary working on things that someone is going to rent than anything else I've done I think, so I really do need to sort the Monster - no excuses now!!

And with some thinnish wire and bit of scrappy looking soldering it lives to cook again.

Well, I did the one I replaced up far too tight and hadn't really got on to any others when I left for lunch and came back to find he'd finished it!

He described spokes as like a big group of friends and you are trying to please all of them all of the time!!

I might go up on Saturday and chat with the other guy who is the EScooter boss, and also he doesn't do as much as the other boss and saturday is pretty quiet, so I should be able to get him to show me a bit more about them. Hopefully!!

I sort of went swimming!

I didn't really swim properly for very far! I tested my knees kicking for some half lengths (the shallow end had kids playing!) and a couple of half lengths of with breaststroke legs to test the knees!!

Mostly did some physio exercises for the shoulder to try and stretch it out a bit as most of the use at work is lifting stuff!

Then some sunbathing :D :D Not sure I have the figure for a bikini but others there definitely didn't but still wore one and on that basis, I'll continue!! LOL

(NO photos!! It would turn the stomachs of all you fattists!!  )
