Finished a night shift, dozed when I got home, went for an MTB but the mojo was lacking so just enjoyed the scenery and weather.

I'm on the beach in the algarve-ay.
I'm happily snoozing.
The missus is happily patrolling the waterline warning furriners about the jellyfish. Earlier we were happily swimming amongst the jellyfish.
When this excitement is over I'm having a cheap Yorick beer

Spent a few hours putting up trunking and tidying up cabling in the church. You'd not think the bishop was coming on Sunday...
Trimmed some of the fur off the dog. Will do more later when I get a chance.
Phoned someone to arrange a meeting about a funeral. Will have to call back again as line was bad.
Made a lovely iced fruit smoothie drink for the wife and myself. Brain freeze time!

Nothing like a half trimmed dog.

Spent the morning up several ladders with a chainsaw sorting out a friends cherry tree which had snapped over their parking area! He'd have done it himself but yesterday managed to drill through his hand. God only knows what he'd do with a chainsaw.

Did mile again. Had thought about upping it a bit more, but first few lengths were hard and 1800m seemed daunting.
Planned a mile again and pressure off.
Once I hit 1200m I smiled as though it was all downhill from here.
Last 100m was fastest of all as had a bit of fun. Glad I had a bit extra left.
Now gonna try to drop overall time with shorter rest times.
I think my first mile was about 1h 10 mins.
Done a few now and today's was 55 mins.
I'm getting good now

I was doing 2 pairs (2x25) quite easily so tried 4 pairs. I realises I perhaps wasn't breathing deep enough, potentially leaving dirty air in snorkel as well.
So big big breaths and 4 pairs (200m) has become easy.
When I started I looked at 32 sessions. Now it's only 8.
Less daunting. Fewer rest stops.
Time dropped to 50.5 minutes.
Average speed up from 0.86 MPH to 1.19 MPH
Sat on patio. Bone idle. No go.
Had 2 small Decathlon energy bars and jumped on the GSXR.
After 4 pairs of lengths I felt good, so aimed for 8 non stop.
After 8 still good so carried on.
Was so easy so aimed for 800m then a rest.
At 800m I was cool so went for the big mile, none stop.
Never a problem really. The last 50m was probably as fast as the first.
Then I sprinted extra 10m to make it a full mile.
The energy bars helped as usually go late afternoon with no food in me. Usually late brekky at 11 ish.
I was absolutely buzzing and elated.
Was pissed off at the time.
Only 3.5 mins better than last time. Then realised that last time I would have only had 3 rests.
Buzzing.
In UK I always joined the gym during dry January and did the progressive pool thing. I was always just happy to reach a mile.
Now at 63, I'm doing a mile. Non stop !!!
Just having a beer by the pool feeling just as proud as I felt when I won my first racing trophy in 1982.
Just sent an email to my pal's wife who runs the Iron-man event every year
Speed now 1.28 MPH

Dad had a stroke on Tuesday which was rubbish. That was just a blur and Wednesday was just worry and, to be frank, Thursday I didn't enjoy visiting. Made me almost not want to go today but it was actually bloody lovely.

You only need little drill to drill holes for shelves. My Makita 18v jobby does all I need.
SDS drills are for proper serious stuff.

Bothered at the Puch for a bit.
The petrol tap was fubared, and is now even worse. At least that's an easy replacement.

Yup. I've never ever needed an SDS for anything before I lived here.
But you DO need the SDS for these walls. Sadly.
Had to go buy one when I first bought this place as no other drill or bit that I had would make a dent in the walls

(It's solid formed concrete, probably covered in 'don't put screws in the walls' coating!!!)
