My independent BMW guy charges around £45 and last time got it done in less time than it took me to walk to the local cafe, order and consume a latte and a bacon bap.

Just spotted that they disconnected my dashcam system so that their driving standards could not be reviewed or their garage location noted. This is duplicitous deceitful behaviour. I have reported this as well. I only noted that the system was off line (it is hardwired in) after deciding to review an incident this morning that could have been catastrophic in its impact if things had gone wrong. I would have no recorded material to prove innocence etc.... I am sickened by this type of deceitful behaviour.

Reminds me of my regular BYP thing. When the service people or car valets etc mess about with all your settings (radio, seat, heating, lights etc etc)....and don't change them back before they hand the car over.

Reminds me of my regular BYP thing. When the service people or car valets etc mess about with all your settings (radio, seat, heating, lights etc etc)....and don't change them back before they hand the car over.

Which in turn reminds me that EVERY SINGLE TIME t'other half drives the FocusOfDestiny (not very often, as it's my designated commuter), he manages to hit the headlight selector with his knee and turn off the auto headlight setting.

Which I am then made aware of the next time I am driving at dusk, and somebody flashes me

The best comment I've seen about daylight saving time recently goes something like: Only a fool thinks cutting a foot off one end of a blanket and sewing onto the other end makes the blanket longer.

It's just the least effort way to do it

You could say "right everyone, we're gonna do everything an hour later now. All those buses which came at 7 now come at 8*, everyone who started their shift at half 9 now does it at half 10, Eastenders is now on at 10, fuck knows what time the post arrives...."

Or you can just move the clocks

I like BST more than GMT because of the lighter evenings, but I fully accept it's "wrong".

The change to BST is a relief. I think I biologically/mentally operate on it most of the year. (It probably helps that I sleep with the curtains open and the window faces east so I sort of wake with the sunrise anyway). When they change again in autumn I, pretty much, ignore it and adapt over a couple of months and even then we say 'well it's really y o'clock' through most of winter.

So, changing the clocks/watches in spring is (and a darn sight easier to wind old clocks forward than stop them for an hour and then waggle the pendulums ).

For me I reckon I prefer GMT over BST.
It's just getting to the point when I walk the dog in the light on a morning (about half five) and it's back to being dark again.
