One of the grippy thingies on my coffee machine thingy (Coffee Handle Sump) broke yesterday.
I've just spent a hour trying to find a replacement online. Found one on 'AliExpress', but can't order it FFS!! All the ones on amazon fr are 51mm internal, this is 53mm. Guessing that the smaller one will leak more than the broken one
Amazon UK and eBay have 53/54mm portafilters but most are specific to the make of machine. Some look pretty generic though. What make is yours?
eg
https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=53mm+porta ... 2c7jbbzf_e
There must be quite a few coffee machines that have bit the dust and the portafilters got ditched with them. Although some people may have one stashed in a drawer, like, just in case it fits the next machine?
It's a Lidl SilverCrest. None of the Amazon ones look quite the same, and for some of the prices I can get a coffee machine!! LOL The one I have was only 20€ second hand!!
It's just annoying!

Bought all the pasty gubbins, but with top sirloin instead of skirt.
Managed to twist the throttles on the ZRX11 & ZX11. Starting to think the surgeon wasn't joking when he said I'd be back on the bikes two weeks post-surgery (it's been 5 days).

That's awesome. They usually know what they are talking about!! Mine says 6 weeks

But that's not that I won't be able to, just that he doesn't want me to!!

After both my carpal tunnel ops, I was in plaster for six weeks!

Whilst under local anesthetic having a hand op some years ago, I decided to lighten the mood in the theatre by cracking a joke.
'"Will I be able to play the piano in two weeks, Mr. Consultant?*" I asked
He looked over his glasses, gave me a withering look and asked, "Do you think it would be the first time I've heard that joke?"
We passed the rest of the op in silence.
*The joke was supposed to be him answering yes, to which I make the oh-so-witty reply, "Well that's bloody impressive, as I can't play it now!" Ba-doom...tish.

That's right up there with asking a lawyer's secretary 'What's he done?' when they say he's in court.

Mines a bit simpler I think - just the plate out of my leg. But I guess he doesn't want me to ride until the holes have filled in?!! LOL

During my second carpal tunnel op, I commented to the surgeon that I was really pleased with the first he'd done because the scar extended my palmistry 'life line'.
He replied that his only concern was making the incision in the correct location.
With hindsight, probably not the best idea to distract someone who has a knife a scissors next to a bundle of nerves

That reminds me of the one I tried to crack when the missus was giving birth, whilst she was getting an internal examination I jokingly said “this reminds me of the last time we went through customs at the airport”……….it didn’t go down well

I caught the dr out with that joke 20 years ago when I got the bone graft. One of the nurses said she couldn't believe he fell for it

Went to the valley with a mate. On the way back we stopped at his garage to pick up the bike stands and wheelie stool to take to my garage. Got to mine and thought, smells of petrol here.
Yup. The sodding Monster has dripped the full tank of fuel onto the floor of the garage. Luckily it's very dusty on the floor, so it's mostly in one place.
But. FFS. Instead of tomorrow being the start of tracing why the left foot peg vibrates so much under acceleration, it will now be to try and track down where the fuel fell out from

It's not the bit immediately under the tank cos thats dry. So, somewhere in amongst all the engine stuff there's a leak
Royally peeved as I just filled the tank with extra expensive fuel from the station up here

AND, I am not convinced I have the skills

Seen the surgeon for the follow up.
Turns out it was him who did the amateur hour cast...
He's happy with progress, asked me to move fingers & wrist when I mentioned physio "You don't need any"
So back next Tuesday for stitches out & on the bike by the following weekend.

Reminds me of when some younger members of staff were trying to work out a VHS player and tapes. One of them said call Taipan, he knows about this old stuff...

The last English in resort is leaving tomorrow (ok, not the last one, but the last one that I socialise with!! LOL). So, he had to go to the valley to get the dog sorted for the trip back to the uk and I got a lift down. While down there we went to my mates pasty shop. Haven't seen her for ages and expected to only be there for a quick coffee.
But it was quiet, so the dog could come in with us and we were there for ages

Now chilling at home
Going to be weird now - no transport and no English to chat with!! LOL Well, a friend that has a cafe up here speaks fluent english, but her cafe isn't open till June!! LOL
I foresee a lot of cross stitch in my future! LOL
