I agree with him. I'd have written it more like this -

Passing a normal fitness test is the minimum requirement.
If anyone can’t pass then they shouldn’t be allowed to do the job

Which would have been fine, if her whole argument wasn't - "I'm a woman, so I should be treated differently and given an easier test".

There were women that sacrificed their lives in the pursuit of equality and because of this my two daughters have the chance to take the same test on an equal footing for the same pay and job, and pass if they're good enough, but now this woman wants to take the whole thing ten steps backwards.

TBF, again, I don't disagree with what you write. Not at all. I dislike women who play on being female to get benefits/help/advantages. Simple things like turning up at a TD and asking someone to watch me back the bike out of the van in case it wobbles as on a ramp, if it starts to go, most people couldn't rescue it!! Rather than turning up and doing the "I'm a feak and weeble female pweeeeeeese could someone wonderful get my bike out for me".

I guess that on here I would write differently just cos people are reactive!!

But please don't think I don't agree. I've stepped back in time 20-30 years by living where I do. I was one of the first generations to really have the chance to do the jobs/sports we wanted to (after the WWs - women did all work during those, but were sent back to the kitchen after), albeit with raised eyebrows and disgruntled males in some places. In France, I raise eyebrows by moving here alone, living alone, by riding a bike, by setting up a business (even if I did kill it ).

So I have seen some of the less final battles that have been fought, and benefitted.

Rishi Sunak is standing in the centre ground telling lies to win an election.

Kier Starmer is standing nowhere telling lies to win an election.

Who to vote for?
Neither of the above, I won’t turn up or I’d spoil my paper first.

I'm in a semi safe Tory seat...I'm actually considering voting Labour just to get rid of em  They're the only party who stand a chance of bearing the Tories in my seat.

I'd feel dirty doing it though.

Same as usual then really.

It's a political version of the XFactor. Who do we like most? Who is going to be smeared the most by the media?

Policies come way down the list. The most you hear about policy is how bad the other guy's policy is.
And as for fibbing - nobody could give two fvcks because the higher you get the more it's ok to say and do exactly as you like because you're too important to be bound by any rules, let alone laws. And we encourage them to do this.

I can't say I particularly support many of them.

I'm half "spoil on purpose" and half "choosing not to chose is a cop-out" about it all.

I'm not seeing anything in that report that states she 'demanded' to be treated equally :?:
Everything about her is demanding and "I know my rights", even though she's literally not up to it.
I've been awake about fifteen minutes but I could finish my coffee right now, put my trainers on and pass that fitness test, and I'm an old duffer.

However, I'm going to wait until I'm physically not up to it and then go for it myself, it's part of my retirement strategy.
I'm going to demand the right to attend the UK special forces selection process, I will turn up in dungarees, purple hair and identify as a fat woman who is twenty-four years old, and then if I fail on the hills I will demand to pass a different test, an easier one.

Then I'll claim compensation and add it to my retirement fund.
My daughter is ex army. She was battalion PTI. Her biggest issue was she wouldn't sleep with her Sgt, so was basically left to rot on guard duty for 6 months until she told them to shove it.
This is a sad sad story...

Why? Genuine question. If everyone refused to vote then the MP's would be selected by lot by the returning officer in each constituency probably by drawing straws or the candidates names out of the hat. Then they would have to work out some kind of coalition or the leading party would try to form a minority government, much more of a shit show than what we have now and that is saying something.

And if you're allowed to vote "Don't Care" (which you are pretty much allowed to do TBF, just by spoiling your paper) the true power then comes to the people who have voted. You could get down to about 6 people actually deciding stuff :D I suppose you could have a situation where "No Vote" is the majority in which case no-one is allowed to win, but then you just become paralysed?

Proportional Representation for the (proportionally represented) win.

Or election by combat. Probably about as effective.

Don't worry, it'll be fine when benevolent alien overlords take over and assign us a planetary governor with our health and wellbeing as top priority.

I hope they turn up soon.
