Another one who read the Wool trilogy.
It was OK but IMO The Expanse pissed all over it
As did Adrian Tchaikovskys Dogs Of War.

I actually preferred the TV series of The Expanse over the books, which is really saying something where I'm concerned.

Books have way too much fight and technical detail written by a 15 year old boy. As does the dialogue....people don't really speak like that.

It was appalling - I couldn’t finish it either.

It’s a shame as the original is a guilty pleasure of Mrs W and I.

Dunno if it's been posted before as I don't go into this thread much, but I've watched the recent Netflix incarnation of " One Day" over the last couple of weeks- I was a bit meh when the first episode went on but really enjoyed it , which is rare for me and that sort of series, I loved both main characters, and it made me both happy and sad in equal measure, which is good in my book!

Agree - a bit soppy and fluffy but did actually enjoy watching it.

Had a night in on my own a few weeks back and gave Rebel Moon (Netflix) a go. Half an hour into it I gave up, so poor was the acting and the pantomime plot.

I'm not against a bit of Sci-Fi, but fack me.....

Very sobering. Makes a change from the usual braindead dross. I did notice that whilst this was one BBC2 at 9pm last night, BBC1's prime-time offering was two fellas who made their name on a dance show twatting around Spain.

Finally got round to watching Babylon 5: The Road Home. Animation (lots of the original cast have 'gone beyond the rim'). It's a bit corny and timey-wimey but it was a jolly romp and was nice to 'meet' all the characters again.

I wanted to like B5, but it just wasn't a patch on TNG. Tho' there was that episode where they restored a ZZR.

Like most series it had peaks and troughs (Battlestar Galactica had a whole season trough) but I liked the Vorlon/Shadow story arc. BG was a bit more DS9 than TNG methinks.

This came on and I was about to turn it over but was slightly mesmerised by a wig wearing Ben Kingsly! Ended up enjoying a rather odd, but light hearted film. Neither of us know why we enjoyed it though?

Having read all three, I can't possibly see a way they could make them into a TV series. It would need a budget the GDP of a first world country.

If you do read the books, the 2nd is a bit of a slog. It was translated by a different guy to the first (and third) book.

Coming out on Prime on 11th April. Looking forward to this.
