Meguiars anything. Remarkably unimpressed with any of their products.

Just sat outside a bar having awesome wings :)

Right outside was a lovely looking Porsche. Four seater jobby but looked ace in silver.

Owner came and I was looking forward to the lovely exhaust note :)

It was a fucking leccy :(

I thought sports cars were about engines and sporty zorsts?

Boo !!!!

The hint should have been 'four doors'.

Proper sports cars don't have four seats, never mind four doors.

Google says:
The 2024 Porsche Taycan 0-60 times top out at a blistering 2.6 seconds when properly configured. That makes it one of the fastest Porsche models available

It's the 0-124mph time of 6.4s which is properly motoring. Literally ;)

Rear engined like a 911 too.

What does "when properly configured" mean?

No idea :) Guessing, there's some adjustments the driver can make, a 'go' version of adjusting how much regen braking is done.

@Mr. Dazzle

Edit: Google finds 'overboost' with 'launch control'

I read 'properly configured' as in 'you bought the correct configuration (the most expensive one)' :D

The pov spec configuration takes 4.8s to get to 60. :(

Q? If those battery powered Porsches depreciate and the value drops like the Turkish lira tied to an anvil...are they good value second-hand?

Probably not bad until something major electrical goes tits up.

It's ALL electrical :)

It's a Porsche, electric seats are probably an optional extra at cost.

Yebbut, suppose someone buys a fully loaded model and trades in after 3 years, if the value drops like people suggest you could get one with all the trimmings at a reasonable price inc. a warranty.

I suppose I'm sceptical and don't believe for one minute that dealers will be knocking out s/h electric Porsches at bargain prices, just that the first buyer takes all the pain of the inflated new price. Certainly not seeing lip-smacking prices on s/h electric Audis.

If a top spec car loses half its value (for arguments sake) its still a 70k car. So it's only a relative bargain!

The top spec Taycans are also hammered with the generic expensive Porsche saloon depreciation. The 140k ICE saloons also take a massive spanking, but not quite as much I'll agree.

Turns out the people buying six figure saloons don't really want 2nd hand ones, so they always take a huge hit.

The chap that used to post on here until a couple of weeks ago posted about Taycan values. There's a bloke called Smee on YouTube who did a video about it a few weeks ago as well. Also on YouTube, last night's Harry's Garage was about depreciation on high end cars.

My take on it is, if you've got the money for a used Taycan then go for it. If it breaks down you've a lot more chance of getting it fixed than you have an MG.

TBH I hadn't thought about electric Porsches until today but had been musing on Cayennes and Macans....but most of those that are what I think of as 'reasonably priced' have more miles on them than my current car.

I'll probably think v hard for a month or two and.....do nothing.
