Mind you, in fairness, they could be sued if they didn't let somebody have enough food to last a 2-week wait in A+E, which seems to be the norm these days.

Ambulance crews don't rush.

I've only seen it twice:
- stroke patient, checked loaded and away ASAP
- a large box of donuts available

If the welfare of the patient is important, mentally and physically preparing them for a long wait could be important. Plus, if handovers are delayed, the crew could be there for hours too

AFAIK they can't leave the patient until A&E are ready to accept them anyway, so it doesn't really matter how soon they get there if they know they're gonna wait!

At our hospital there is never, ever not a queue! But handover is supposed to be 15 to 30 minutes, but careful timing will see a timely end to your shift rather than being sent back out again. After a long shift I can relate to wanting that, the heart attack/stoke/RTA etc patient less so I expect...

Ok, probably not all of them but there seem to be a ridiculous number of people riding them with no helmet (ok, probably not required, but it's going as fast as an actual scooter quite often, and cyclists tend to wear a helmet now!) and also - WTF do they ride in a cycle lane but THE WRONG DIRECTION/SIDE OF THE ROAD???

But the scooters have zero concern for themselves. Soooo many just zip around with no thought for vehicules or pedestrians. How do more not die?? (Not that I'd wish that on anyone, but FFS, they are mental!! )

Nope! Chambéry is the first since winter basically. And the biggest thing I've noticed is just how many suicidal electric scooter people there are around, and second how the cycle lanes don't seem to run in the same direction as the traffic on that side of the road any more LOL

Hotels! Well, not actually the hotels, but the lack of sockets in places you'd really like them to be - like, near the bed!! LOL

I've never really had need to use hotels much but the daily travel budget from the unemployment office generally covers the cost of an hotel for the night. So, I tend to stay a couple or three nights near the driving school as it saves me almost two hours each way per day and gives me some time to at least try and revise!!

But every bloody room is very odd about sockets! Actually, I had one room a couple of times and there is one usable socket in the room near the bed and actually on the side I need it to be (don't shoot me, but I go to sleep with netflix on the tablet, and can only sleep on my left side, so socket needs to be that side!! LOL)

Today I've got a lovely room and for a change, just a double, not with a single bed above, so it feels quite airy!! (The whole room is about the same sqm as my whole apartment, so it definitely feels roomy!).

But the socket is over by what is called a 'desk' and my charging cables only 'just' reach the bed!!!

Gonna have to start packing an extension lead!! FFS!!

Formula1 and another nearby (similar standard!) are terrible for sockets (and not everso nice!!). But the IBIS Budgets generally seem to be much better - just not with sockets

I don’t know if it’s the French or if the Brits back over there do it but I never noticed when I lived there cos I was more gobby in english!

But ffs. Virtually Everytime I talk to anyone here on the course, someone else will talk over me and generally change the subject. It happens so often that I join in less and less

TBF it’s happened a bit with the Brit’s in resort that I socialise with, people will cut across what I’m saying and change the subject but I just assumed I was boring people (haven’t had much interesting to talk about for a few years!!)

But it is definitely worse on the course.

You are obviously going to up market hotels. One in Ireland a few months back had ALL the sockets with round pins, presumably to stop guests charging stuff or otherwise using electricity. This was a modern(ish) building and an hotel that claimed 4*s

Car crash today

Country lane, I came to a complete stop, my friend in the back of my car literally said "he's going to hit you, he's going to hit you, he's going to hit you" and then he did.

Ball ache with insurance companies and all that trash incoming. I'm fairly certain it will come out knock for knock (even though it definatley wasn't) and my already expensive insurance will be even more next year

The only saving grace is that I could drive away, beat the wing with a hammer and the car appears to only have panel damage. (I will check the alignment at work tomorrow). His car ended up with the front wheels facing in different directions !
