Re: What have you done today thread?

I have had the most entertaining & hilarious back & forth with some muppet on FB after he posted pics of his Rocket 3 with an EE Lightning painted on it & I suggested it would be improved by putting BSA badges on as they actually made a Lightning...& then his brother chimed in too.
Me: Now ya need to remove ALL trace of it being a Triumph & put BSA badges on it... seeing as both the Rocket 3 & the Lightning were BSA models.
3rd guy: An English Electric badge for the win!
R3: there's always one
R3 Brother: what on earth are you talking about? What has BSA got to do with a English electric lightning?
(I post a pic of a BSA Lightning)
R3: well I won't be swapping that for mine anytime soon....blimey!!!
Me: A65 Lightning
If I had your bike I'd definitely put BSA tank badges on it
R3 Brother: but itās not a BSA???? itās a triumph

why would you downgrade it ha ha like putting a ford badge on a Ferrari ha ha
Me: The original Rocket 3 was a BSA. (posts pic of BSA Rocket3)
R3: This was about an English jet fighter on my English bike!!! Most people have embraced it with positive comments!! as I have already said, there's always one!! Congratulations.
Me: Where have I said anything negative? The Triumph Trident & BSA Rocket 3 used the same engine, because at that point in time they were the same company... The difference was the BSA version had canted cylinders, which wasn't used on the Trident until the '75 T160V
Me: Ferrari's don't need downgrading, they're owned by Fiat...Ya can't get much lower
R3 Brother: Just struggling to her your point? So you say the trident and the bsa used the same engine? Well this bike has a 2500cc engine, I guarantee you they do not share the same engine, just scratching our heads as to why you said your comment? The picture was posted because itās a English bike, with a English jet, and the bike has the jet painted onto it, the bike is called a rocket and well the lightning jet was like a rocket,,,,just donāt get why you say well if that was mine I would put a bsa badge on it
Me: I can explain it to you, I can't understand it for you. It's really not that difficult.
Me: Let me try again, for the THIRD time. 1) The ORIGINAL Rocket 3 was a BSA, not a Triumph. 2) BSA made a bike called a Lightning (Triumph didn't). 3) Therefore it would make more sense/be fitting to put BSA badges on the Triumph. 4) You can't tell the difference between 1970's BSA's & Triumphs & your one?? You think I said that BSA put your engine in the 1970s Rocket3?? It really shouldn't be this frigging difficult to comprehend. How old are you?
R3: Quite clearly your a pratt...that likes to piss people off...keep your childish comments to yourself ( changing the badge on my TRIUMPH) ...I just posted my bike with a Lightning on it!! which I'm proud of.. its more about the fantastic Jet than my bike!!! Get a grip you jobs worth...Nice to know the decent Lightning Folk on here, out weight the idiots....
Me: Piss people off? For suggesting a way to possibly further improve your bike? & you resort to name calling? Good grief.
Me: btw: *you're* hth
R3 Brother: Rick you have just proved āyouāreāself! No one likes a grammar checker! You tried to make a silly comment? No one but you got it, and you look like a plonker! Let me help you a bit okay and please just take the advice and go away, just because you thought something, doesnāt mean you should say it ok! You have had absolutely zero point? Made your (youāre)self look like a plonker for absolutely no reason! Just pipe down a bit okay and keep your silly sarcastic pointless comments to inside your brain, we all here for good intent, not to antagonise! All the best, leave it at that , all done! Wish you all the best
Me: Outstanding! LOL!!
Me: Btw, at least my bikes were made by an actual aircraft company
