Was amusing up at Afan today, I was on the MTB and the lad was on the ebike. Well, sort of, he had it switched off on most of the climbs and trails and got back having 5/5 bars left lol. Nutter. But it does show for the earlier question posted, you can ride it fine without power, it won’t shock anyone to know, he was quicker uphill with power off than I was on the Fuel ex
We saw and chatted to 7 blokes in total, all middle aged/50s, all we’re on ebikes. We only saw 1 person on a MTB which was a youngster who’d got it for Xmas present
Afan was hard on the hands, but I don't think that was the Treks fault, just the rocks are relentless there.
Top day though

Out today for a play, well, more of a slog really as I'm not exactly on flying form. But it was miles in the legs.
Must admit, as superb as this is, I may chop it for something a bit slacker on the front end.

Well that was interesting.
I've felt both the Orbea and Liv feel way better on front than the Fuel, despite all 3 bikes having fox 36.
So checked the Orbea and rebound was 13 clicks, the Fuel was 21. So 8 clicks slower. I've just set the Fuel to the same but won't get a chance until weekend to test fully

I was looking a bit more at the geometry and thought more..
The Trek is 66.5deg but that's in HIGH, when put in LO it's 66deg... Now that i'm running the Trek allowed fork of 150mm that should put me into 65.5deg. I could even use that spacer to put it to 65deg if i wished i guess, that would also increase the stack height from 613mm to i guess 623mm. When you consider some of my thoughts/options like say the Santa Cruz Megatower, that being 64.7deg and stack of 627mm, well we're really taking very much tiny tiny increments here aren't we. All of this is making the Trek seem a much more viable proposition really isn't it.

Lol that was bonkers. Dyfi bike park
Peaty, Hoffman, Kerr, Seagraves, Atherton's, plus a whole other bunch of Pros I've forgotten were all out.
Add into that half of the field of Youth national DH series all out.
It was slightly intimidating at times.
But I had a cool day, taking it easy as I was out on my own and had to drive the lads home. But enjoyed way more than previous visit.

Daughter bought an older one a few months back, loves it. 2018, I think, Fuel EX 9.8

Being a conservative and very old git I opted for the Top Fuel and bought this couple of weeks ago, ended up with this, also 2018, Top Fuel with 12sp AXS upgrade. £1500 from a very nice man in Basingstoke. Fitted the BikeYoke dropper post, just have to learn how to ride it.
